We keep a lot of things at home (office also) which we may not need at all. Still we will not let go thinking that what will we do in case we need it later.More than a quarter of everybody's home is occupied with things that we dont and wont need.We should have some system of determining . Sometimes the very thing we dispose will be required at a later date. It has happened to me which makes the decision for disposal even more difficult. What do you think ?

Once i read in a magazine a tip to get rid of junk. Here it was said that if we feel like throwing away something and are undecided about it, then we should first keep this hidden in a place where we cannot see it. After a month we can review if we ever searched for it.If we had not, then just throw it away. Now it was nice to read but implementation would still be difficult because we would always tend to feel that if at all we need that precious indispensable thing at a later date then it would be a waste to throw it away then. This is how we keep accumulating this junk.

hi, it is an innovative suggestion. However as you rightly said, the implementation is more than a little difficult. Last year I wanted to get rid of some old papers as the files in which I keep them at home began to bulge. So I decided to get rid of all the old bills and reciepts that were more than 7 years old. Some of the articles for which those bills were issued no longer even existed. !However a month later, when my daughter passed 10th , the school authorities wanted the reciept of first standard refundable deposit to refund the same !But I had disposed off the 10 year old reciept alongwith the other bills !Quite difficlt, dont you feel so ?

I tend to accumulate things and I am loathe to throw anything away thinking that surely a day will come when that is needed. My wife on the other hand is the opposite of this and she gives away anything that is not being currently used.

I agree with ur view. I think we feel guilty even getting rid of things we will never use for the rest of our life.

Even my mom does this, keep all things thinking that she may need this in future. When it come to me i diffrentiat thing in two groups. 1. Things which i need in future 2. Things which i may required in future The thing come in first group i keep them. The thing comes in second group have two catogary first costly cannot afford to buy them again or dispose them-i keep/store them and second can afford to dispose them, then i dispose them. This will help us to determine better way. Enjoy :)
