i was in a deep sleep at the time, and i live in michigan, and many people in this area felt the tremors, and there are reports that electricity has went out in some areas. in the community i live in i heard the emergency sirens going off for 5 minutes, i think they are preparing in case more tremors or earthquakes happen.

That's interesting. I see from your profile that you are in the States but when I checked on the earthquake site atwww.iris.edu/seismon there wasn't one over mag4.0 today. Maybe it will be updated later. Poor you. A very frightening experience!

It woke me up was about 5:37 here in Indiana when it happened.. they say it was a 5.4 the last one I remember here in Indiana was back in 1987 and it registered a 5.5 then. They say we will have aftershocks for the next few days from it.

I heard that on the news. They say it was felt here in some parts of Ohio. I didn't feel a thing. When I sleep, I sleep. I do not know how I would react to feeling my house shake. I'd probably end up having a panic attack or something. LOL

We woke up, my wife and I. I got on the computer shortly after the event and found a website tracking earthquake reports. There were 15 filed reports when I started and something like 2,000 by the time I went back to bed. No real damage to our house, thankfully.

What a shocking news! But I believe that you are fine as you can still post here. It seems everything is alright and this is lucky.

Hello dear ersmommy. I am sorry for the earthquake that you are having and hope that you stay safe from the earthquake. It is better to be careful and alert during the quake period. We do not feel the shake of the earth here in the east past of China and it is safe here. Stay safe and alert as always, dear friend.

The kids and I slept right through it. My mom was telling me about it this morning. She said she was up and on her couch watching the news and the couch just started shaking. I am kind of glad I slept through it. I have never been in an earthquake before. I guess now I have been, but since I was asleep through the whole thing I still have not.
