I do. The current fantasy strangle-ee would be our landlady. My bf has rented this house that we live in for the last 5+ years. I have calculated how much he has paid since he has been here, it is over $41,000. She called my bf today talking a bunch of nonsense about how rotted out plumbing that is leaking raw sewage into the ground is a problem that can wait a month or two! The pipes are rotted the whole area is a biohazard, no it cannot wait another month it has already waited 2 mos because she thought that the problem was much more minor than it is. However she lives less than 120 miles away and yet even when we had to go up the street to the truckstop to use their restrooms for 6 days she has not deigned to come out here and take a look at the piping around the house. Ity is all dug up and exposed so that you can see that the pipes are rotted away and that the whole system was mickey moused together when it was installed at least 20 y ears ago. She tells him when he called her at the beginning of the month to ask her what she planned to do about the problem, "I can't deal with this right now, I am going to Europe at the end of the month!" Did we ask her that? No! Is it our problem that she would rather spend her money on her trip to Europe than on a plumbing job that is going to cost at least $4000 and a new septic tank for the property which is going to run her probably another 3500. This is one of the reasons that we rent rather than owning, and we could care less about her trip mind you. She is going away for 2 months, so if she don't fix it in the next 2 weeks we are shoot out of luck. She tells my bf, who has been paying the rent for these last 5 years. "I've got to get rid of you, you are causing trouble!" Then he tells her, "Christina the place is unsanitary it is a health code violation. If we called the city inspectors out here they would make us move out instantly into a hotel at your expense." She then todl him that he was threatening her. She went on to say that if "I gotta pay, then you gotta pay, I'm going to raise your rent again. And if you don't like it you can just move!" If we could afford to move we already would have and I think that $800 per month for a two bedroom house that doesn't even have a functioning septic system and constant plumbing problem over paying wouldn't you? God I just wanna strangle the little troll. Then she tells us that she can't come out and even look at the problem until after she gets eye surgery next week. She is cutting it a little too close to her trip for my comfort. And I have the sinking feeling that when she leaves that this problem will still not be resolved. She tells us we have no patience, that we need to learn to be patient. She is not living in a septic house that she can't afford to move out of! WAAAAAAAIIIIILLLL! I just wanna strangle that short little Polish woman! Have you ever had a dispute with your landlord. What happened? What did you do.? Did it work? And do you have any advice for me. April 17
