Why do people tend to stare at a person all the time?

My Mother-in-law will stare at me so much until it gets on my nerves. I can't stop someone from looking. But isn't it best to just come out and say something without looking so much? Also, when I am out in public, people will stare as well. Why is this? No, I am not saying that I have a problem with people looking at me, it is just that I feel, instead, of all the staring, it would be best to just come out and say what is on your mind.

I think a stare is just harmless admiration and curiosity depending on who is doing the staring! For the case of your mother-in-law, her stare is obviously an outright hateful and evil feeling towards you for dividing the attention that once was hers alone from her son! Some people stare to find fault and brag about it-others stare for something completely different, like a disabled person in a population of normal people gets a lot of stares with varied conotations,a very beautiful girl passing near a goup of teenage boys will attract a "loud" stare-there are a thousand reasons why we stare at a person-just put on an expensive suit and then take a walk among poor peasants, they could stare your skn out of your coat!

Hello dear cream. It is true that we have some people who like to stare at others. To this kind of people, I would like to use the same way to deal with them to show that I am not afraid to be stared at, nor do I care. hehe. But as it is your mother-in-law, who stares at you, I think that you can try to make the atmosphere more relaxing by making her happy as to forget about her habitual performance to stare at you. Say something to make her laugh. lol

Cream darlin - don't you know they are staring because you are so beautiful! People love to look at beautiful things - we pay millions of dollars for artwork! Thats what you are is a living, breathing, piece of art - don't blame them if they simply must look, smile and take it for the compliment that it is!

yeah.....i bet talking straight to a person is the best thing than just staring...why just stare wherein we do have mouth and tongue to speak out...
i wonder some people acting like that its so irritating ..
