When your star falls....

I too have fallen from a ten. I know these things shouldn't bother me and I should just post like I normally would but...maybe I should be extra sweet for a few days to get my ten back. I should stay away from controversial topics so I don't offend anyone? Too bad that isn't in my character and I am sure I will continue to offend some people. You can't keep everyone happy all the time after all. So my question is...when your star starts to fall do you change the way you post?

No I don't Whywiki, I don't change how I post or what I post to. This star is not indicative of who I am. Whether I am a 10 or a 2 I am the same person each and every day. There are some days I do not post because I just do not feel like talking or saying any thing at all, but I never change who I am. You are so right when you say you can not please everyone here.

I just think some days I may come across as a little harsh then I guess in real life we all have those kind of days.

I think they should lower star ratings for those that have nothing better to do than be negative and mark things as negative. If I don't like a conversation topic, I just don't participate and leave well enough alone. I wonder if some discussion starters just want mylotters to only agree with them and tell them what they want to hear...and when someone gives them constructive criticism, they get upset and mark it negative. Think about this whywiki...your star may be red for now, but their isn't a star high enough to rate your wit, intelligence and experience. Nuff said.

That's an easy way to always remember your birthday. I know someone born on 2/4/68!

I think you're right, people don't like to believe that others could have a differing view to their way of thinking then go on a negative rating spree. I think my star should be a 666!

no it won't actually... i prefer to be honest with myself and have fun here... the star and ratings are just symbol here for me... as long as i am still earning alright here, i don't really pay much attention to them...

I try not to notice too but the red colour just seems kind of like a scarlet letter!

I love my star. lol I would be very upset if it fell but guess it happens to everyone. I hope you get your ten star back. I try not to get into debates if I can help it. I gave you a plus, maybe it will help a bit. Have a wonderful day!!

Hello whywiki, I was sad when my star rating went down once. I kept thinking what went wrong and why some people just don't like my way. I always stay away from controversial topics here and I try not to offend people, but still my star rating went down. You are right - it's hard to make everyone happy but the most important matter is that, as long as I am happy here, I don't care much about how people think about me.

You are right, in the long run the most important part is having fun here.

This is about the tenth discussion I have read in the past couple days and so my conclusion is mylot is getting too strict and deleting a lot of discussions and responses and this will also effect our star rating as well as other members ratings, or so Crash has told me in the questions discussion he started a while back. I don't care anymore and I don't think most members do. I still read and respond to anyone that has a low rating so it doesn't make a difference to me. I was away for a couple weeks and when I came back my star dropped from a 10 to a 8 and I wasn't even active. Go figure!

I don't pay attention to the stars when I respond either. Unless someone has annoyed me in the past I rarely care about their ratings.

I don't usually notice the star! Yes, I can be quite oblivious at times.. I don't think I've ever had a ten! As far as I know I've been stable at 9 for quite some time.. I am trying to get more organized, so who knows? Maybe I'll get a ten one of these days.

I am always surprised when I notice a ten but it never lasts long then poof I'm a nine again. I think I just prefer the colour blue to red

I post the same no matter what. The star doesn't mean that much to me. I have been down to a 7 and that didn't bother me at all. It's like the old saying "you can please some of the people all of the time You can please all the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all of the time." I just wish people would realize that not everyone will agree with your opinion and accept the fact. We are all different and we all think differently. That's what makes the world a happier place to live. It sure would be a dull world if we all wanted the same thing. Some people here think the blue #10 star gives them more status. I've see some post by people with lower stars that are of better quality than those with a higher star. And from what I see it doesn't effect the earnings.

That is true, I know a 6 and his posts are intelligent and not to controversial yet he is a 6 the poor guy....

Stars, points and ratings go up and down like a yoyo on here hun, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. It happens quite frequently on here, but it is better to ignore it and continue having fun instead. I see no reason why anyone should be forced to change the way they post.

I don't know what is going on here but I have read so many stories like yours. My star has not dropped yet and I really don't get it. I enter into some seriously controversial conversations and get all caught up in them. I have lost money when those discussions get deleted but for some unknown reason I have not pist the person off who is doing this to all of you. It is kind of strange because the ones I see getting dropped are not people who offend people. I wouldn't change the way I post. Say what you feel. You will know if you offend anyone that matters here because we all seem to communicate quite well even when we disagree. My guess is that it is someone new here and playing games. hopefully they'll get bored soon if everyone stops getting excited about it.

It is tempting to be very controversial for a day or two to see if and how far I can plummet...

I've fallen in star rating three distinct times! I've not changed a thing and I've not gone away either. Its should draw some attention that we are seeing multiple cases of star vandalism in recent days, but maybe not. -_-

here is what I think. It seems a little mathematical. (it is how good you are/the number of your posts) when the number of your post increases without have good responses. this number decrease. if the number of good post increases this number would increase. the bottom line is: it is the quality of you posts. that is what I think
