What are some old home remadies that you have heard of? Like a mustard plaster for chest congestion

When I was a child, we would get ringworms occasionally, the first thing my mom or dad would grab would be vinegar. It worked but had a little sting to it.

Warm oil for an earache, definately, we always used olive oil as a child, and the vinegar I couldnt count the things I have used that for, sunburn being just one.

Daddy use to say roll a lemon and cut a hole in it like an orange, salt it and suck the lemon juice and salt for sore throat and to cut the phlem out of throat.

I heard that a chiuwawa [sp] would take the asthma from a person. IDK though. A cup of vanilla icecream or a glass of milk is supposed to help with heartburn. Bleach on insect bites like ant bites or mosquitos bites is supposed to take the sting away.
