If Obama Becomes President

United States

If Obama becomes President I'll be ashamed of my fellow Americans that voted for him.If all it takes is charisma and words to become elected President in the United States Of America, woe to us.That would be saying that the majority of America can be swayed by pretty words alone. What has this country become mush ? Lets not be fooled by only words. Lets go by the accomplishments of the Clinton years.Things were pretty good then and Hillary would be a better President than Bill was.Go Hillary, for the sake of America !

What I'm sick of hearing is the word "change" It seems this is the word he is leaning on like a crutch. Why not tell us what kind of change? How he can go about making this change? Why we need a change? Give me some facts to back up this "change". After listening to some of his speeches I was ready to pull out my hair if I had to hear anyone say that word again. Yes we need a "change" for the better not for the worse. Give me someone who can state what they will do for this country and for the legal citizens who live here not someone who repeats "we need a change" and don't even know what change they are talking about. Frankly I don't see anyone running that can bring about the "changes" we need. Not one of them has the guts to do so. I have to admit Clinton did do a good job with our national debt and may have done a lot more if it had not been for the people this was hurting(money wise) He may have even helped the people of this country. They had to find some reason to get him out of the White House before the people realized what a good thing he was doing. Almost every president has had an affair or a mistress and lied about it. As far as that goes it was his private life ,it had no effect on how he ran our country. I will support Hillary Clinton and pray that she gets the chance to bring about a "change" to our country.

I know,it is crazy how some people can vote for someone like Obama.I have sat down and listened to him but I can't hear him say a thing. As I have listened to him I keep saying to myself,Obama just say what your going to do.So my guess is that he isn't going to do anything if he becomes President.Maybe the change is that he is not going to lift a finger to try and help America and twiddle his thumbs while we sink into despair.Maybe as America sinks like some capsized ship that has taken on too much water, maybe thats the change, that America will drown drown in our own stupididy.Thats a big change where we lose our standing as America a great country. If Obama wins the election, just get ready to flounder if not sink because times will get a lot worse, we wouldn't' have a leader that is going to do anything for the people.I believe that Hillary will clean up the Bush mess and help steer America in the right direction.I believe she is the capable one. Thanks for your comments.I'll be praying for her too.

I don't want to sound rude but I think it's unfair to assume that all people who vote for Obama are only voting for him for his charisma, not everyone is that credulous. It's like saying people only voted for Bush because his dad was once President. I'm sure a lot of people did vote for him for this reason, but not everyone. There are people who were genuinely interested and could relate to his chosen policies. And the same goes for Obama. A lot of people may vote for Hillary purely because she is female, those people are also wasting their votes.

I think you make a very fair point. People do tend to vote on face value, which is unfortunate. But in this case it won't be the first or the last time.

Some people say they can't put their finger on why they vote for Obama.Well,I know why,its charisma and words. He says he wants change and thats becomming a big pull word because everyone wants change.I'm saying I'm ashamed of any fellow Americans that vote for him because they don't know why.Its just something they feel, they want change. When that is what they are saying then Obama is one of those people who can easily draw people in because of his personality and the fine words he speaks. He is a charmer.

Well spoken Janisspaggiari. I agree with you completely. I am so afraid that if Obama gets into office, this country is going to be in sorry shape.

I don't want to be in that sorry shape either and thats why I'm being so blunt because we could be in trouble depending on who is elected.

If Obama becomes President he will find that, as with others who have tried to promise change, he will be stonewalled at every turn. If he can't find a way to work with Congress, there will be a major change in the composition of the House and Senate come the next election cycle, and he'll find more opposition.

Well,a good leader should have an open heart and an up spirit.Unfortunately, neither Obama nor Hillary owns those abilities. It seems clear to me that there's no way in the world in which politic business can be solved.

His attitude for change is not enough. We need to know more about the layout of this change so it is not just a word that he throws around to sway people but a word that really has substance.

I will be honest here I don't understand American Politics as i am an Aussie so maybe i shouldn't even add to this discussion but i saw Rosie O'Donnell on a talk show last week and she said she though Obama and Hillary should join forces and work together, I sort of thought that sounded quite a good idea the first black man and first woman presidents working together as a team....maybe one person shouldn't lead such a powerful country... just a thought...

Let's look at the Clinton years, NAFTA, losing Congress in 2 years, having Bin Laden in the cross-hairs and passing on attacking. Yes Clinton was better than Bush but many of the Clinton mistakes set up these last 8 years of Bush. Perhaps Obama is only a few speeches to you, but I guarantee you if you look at his record, he's not exactly an empty suit. He has quite an impressive and inspiring resume. The fact that you say you will be ashmaed of Americans who vote for Obama makes me think you really have not looked at any facts besides the candidates last names. I'm ashamed of any voter who doesn't do their homework before voting.
