Passover is a 8 day holiday where Jews remember their freedom from slavery in Egypt. Have you ever seen the movie The Ten Commandments? If so, that is the story. If not,in short, the Pharoah finally lets the Jews go. They have to get out of Egypt. They only had a short amount of time so they packed up and couldn't let the bread rise but they got out. Now to celebrate their and our freedom,8 days in spring we Jews don't eat anything that is made with yeast or a grain that is used to make bread. For me it is the hardest time of year. Normally, I eat bread, pizza, pasta, corn, and pretzels. All of them are off limits this week. One of my friends calls Passover her 7 day diet.I hope this helps. And I hope you get to rent The Ten Commandments if you haven't seen it already.
