The best gift my mom ever gave me was keeping a journal after my dad died. She wrote in a notebook, which I did not even know about. She passed away almost 6 years ago. My sister found the journal and did not tell any of us and made copies of it for us for Christmas. I loved reading that journal. In it she had a picture of me on prom night saying how beautiful I looked and then when I graduated from college how proud she was of me. I bawl every time I read it, but it also makes me smile. I treasure this journal so much. What has your mom given you that you treasure?

the best gift my mom ever gave me is a beautiful gold diamond ring on my birthday. She loves buying jewellary for me. Sometimes she gets me cute earrings and sometimes nice rings. Apart from that she has always been there by my side and she has always taken care of me whenever i am not feeling well. That is the biggest gift i can eevr ask from her.I love her a lot and cannot live without her. ~pinks~

LIFE, that is the best gift my mom ever gave to me. i know that is such an overused word but that is what i feel is the best she ever given to me. those nine months in her tummy and giving birth is not an easy thing for every mom in this world and if we only value such love coming from our mom, maybe we will have a better world :) i said this coz if we know this fact, we will see most women in this world as a loving person and we will respect them and such love will be pass on. anyway, you did get such a wonderful tangible gift that you can hold and keep and share to your kids and your grand kids and tell them how wonderful and loving your mom is., thanks for giving me an idea LOL.. takecare

Life Ok really the best gift she gave me was teaching me how to take care of my daughter when she was a baby. I knew NOTHING! lol I didn't know how to bath her or anything.......talk about clueless. lol So I think that would have to be it. Physical stuff would be my guitar. I wish I still had it. I sold it, my parents had money problems and I told my mom is she had to sell it to do it, but do it fast before I changed my mind. lol I miss it, I don't have a clue how to play now. I have forgotten EVERYTHING :(

My mom passed away in 1999. In her will she left me her most prized possession, her baby grand piano. It had been given to her by her father on her 17th birthday. She willed it to me rather than any of my six sibblings because I was the only one who learned to play the piano. My husband remodeled our home to make room for the piano and I'm very proud to have it, because it reminds me so much of her.

What a beautiful gift! I have kept journals off and on about my kids as well as all their notes to me etc. I have been planning for years to piece them all together into a scrapbook of some sort. You've just inspired me to perhaps get started. I am such a procrastinator.

That really is so precious how your mother wrote inside that journal and you never even knew about it. That is really something and I am sorry for your lost even though it was a while ago I know it is hard because a mother's love can never be replaced. I love my mother so much and she is thoughtful and has always been that way and I love everything she gives me but her love is the most best gift she has given to me. Seriously that is the one thing I can rave about the most. I love her so much, she went through a lot for us kids. It is not easy to be a single mother but she damn well tried anyway. I love her and how strong she tried to be for us all even when sometimes I know she must of being really hurting inside. Mothers are the best.

for me the best thing that i receive from my mom is her love, caring, attention and understanding and open mind. I have a big mistake in my life, others may just throw me away and want me to leave the house to live by my own, it was to stand on my decision, but my mom was always there for me, support me and inspire me to keep on moving. She was not here just to give me life but give her life for me.For me she is the most wonderful person existing in my life. She is the best gift that i would have, one of the best gift ever that i receive.

This may sound corny but the best gift my mum has and always will give me is her love and affection. She has sacrificed so much for me especially in the absence of my father. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost her. I feel for you regarding the loss of your mother, an experience I know I will dread when the time comes. It's a wonderful gift your mum left for you, all her personal thoughts, love and affection she had for her children in a timeless book - absolutely magical.

The best gift would have to be giving birth to me. She does so much for me its hard to choose. That's awsome that your mother did that. That is a great gift. I would treasure that for the rest of my life. Nice post I enjoyed reading it.
