What was your favourite board game as a kid?

I liked to play Trouble. I loved popping the little...popper that rolls the dice. I loved the sound it makes and the fact that it's a race to the centre of the board. My mum used to play it with me and I was always the blue marker-every time!
Did anyone else ever play Trouble? I think it may have had a different name also so I've added a picture of it here for you to see.

Re: Trouble, I remember that game very well and have played it with children since then... It seems like most children still like it.
It is hard to pick a favorite board game as it seemed I liked different games in different situations.
With my entire family:
I remember playing Monopoly and Life with my family... It seemed like the games would never end but the time of family togetherness was great.
With one sister:
I also liked Chinese checkers and Checkers and played them with one of my sisters.
Alone:
I used to also like just moving around the pieces on a Chess board and imagining interactions between the characters... I did not have anyone to play that game with as no one else in the family knew how but enjoyed immensely the storytelling that one could do with those pieces.

That is so cute! I think you should write a story based on some of the interactions your characters had!

If I do anything like that, I might use it as a writing exercise idea for people here at myLot. I have some already going in the Writer section...
Feel free to join in if you wish.

I remember Trouble! That was a cool game. My first favorite was Candy Land - I still like to play it. When I got older though, I put it aside for Monopoly. I was always the dog and the banker. I liked playing with the money!

We use to play Whoo-Hoo, we played that game every single weekend and we spent hours playing.....I don't think i played trouble....When i was young my Dad was hooked on dominoes., and we played 42 all the time and i learned very young to play regular dominoes as well....I still enjoy a game of dominoes..Since i was the only child at home ,i had to play games with daddy,my sister was already married and my brother was older and never home much..Daddy would play checkers with me and taught me lots of moves....Mom was never playing with us she was always busy cooking or sewing, she made all my cloths....

Mine was monopoly, and then whenever I went to stay at my Grandmas house she had this cool casino game that I would play with, Oh and I loved Ludo too. I was a single child though and so most of the time would have to play these games on my own. I had a great imagination though and always had lots of imaginary friends to play with. I did not always win either!!

Oh yeah my sister and I loved that game too :)
We also loved Sorry, Life, Ants in the Pants, Shoots & Ladders, Hungry Hippos, Battle Ship and Operation.
The funny thing is that of all those games the only one I have as an adult is Battle Ship. I would like to have Life but my hubby doesn't like it much LOL :)

I am not very familiar with the board game called trouble... but i was quite crazy with playing Snake and Ladders... i had the small version and the bigger one... i used to bring the small one in school and play with my classmates during recess time... but after a few years... i shifted to playing scrabble... and that really practiced me in terms of recognizing words... and making some out of jumbled letters...

It's a toss up between Therepy, Trivia Pursuit and Monopoly. These were all fun games that my family and I played very often....
