I have a 1 year old Pitt bull and a 3 month old Pitt bull mix puppy...they are both the sweetest dogs around..they love our family. Why does the media hype up those dogs to be killers all the time? I think, that there are other large breeds out there, that can be very dangerous and aggressive too.How the dog grows up,has a lot to do,on how the owner raises them...

they aren't all bad. they are just more aggressive than other dogs and turn easier than other dogs do,but if raised right then they should be fine. it is in their nature to be more aggressive and some even say that at some point their brains outgrow their heads. Whether that's true or not, don't know...but the pits i have seen have always been aggressive and with children i wouldn't have one. my sister had one that was the sweetest dog ever and when she got a cocker spaniel puppy the pit went crazy and bit it's head off. the pit was never the same after that, so she got rid of it because she has two children. God bless

I agree, that they probably can turn...but in most cases,if they raised with love and care...they are great dogs...Our one year-old Pitt bull...lets our little puppy bite him and hang on him..he has marks all over his face...and he won't even do anything back...the puppy off course is only playing with him...Rufus our one year-old is a wonderful dog.

I don't think there are any bad dogs just bad owners. I think it is people that make this breed mean. I was driving my cab last weekend and pulled up to a house with a barking pittbull. At first she made me nervous but I approached her and said hi sweety and she dropped to the ground and rolled around on her back for a tummy scritch. She was far nicer than her owner! I think raised right they are just as sweet as any other breed.

The can be intimidating sometimes, due to their size and rep they have...but,like you said,it is how the dog is raised and treated.

Pitbulls much like Rotties are more inclined to be aggressive, its in their nature BUT that doesnt mean they are ALWAYS bad dogs by any means...Sadly there are owners of both breeds that TRAIN THEM to be that way and I personally think thats why they get that bad rap ya know...

Certain breeds are more inclined to be "aggressive" such as the pit bull. But it is all in the way you raise them. Unortunately, many people raise them to be fighters and the media jumps all over these cases so dogs like the pit bull get bad reputations. It's all in how you raise them. I commend you for taking in these dogs and hope you can set a good example of how sweet and loving these animals can be. It's all about awareness.

Our Pitt bull is the most lovable dog,I have ever owned...he is sweet and hates it,than he gets in trouble...When,my husband first asked me,to get him,I was against it,since I had never owned a dog of his breed before,I only heard all the horror stories, the media had put into my head...and I was afraid to get him..since I had little children...As it turned out,he became the most sweetest dog.... Still,I believe, that he has to be kept under control at all times....
