I Learned From Watching My Mom And My Grandma Cook And I Cook Like They Do But With My Own Spin On Things. I Am Teaching My Daughter How To Cook But I'm Not Getting Very Far With Trying To Show The Boys, They Just Don't Care. Who Taught You How To Cook? Do You Use Exact Recipe's Or Do You Try Your Own Things?

I learned to cook from my dad. We sat and watched cooking shows together and then we would go and make something. We didnt have a lot of money so I got pretty good and making meals with what we had on hand. I saved us a ton when I got married and we had to live on little money. Now I am trying to teach my kids to cook. My son is really good at it. I cant wait to see how far he goes with it.

I learnt cooking from my husband. When i got married i didnt knew anything to cook.He is a very good cook. Now i enjoy to cook.& also i have learnt my mom's recipes also but not By watching her,U might feel funny i learnt her recipes while chatting to her. From childhood i didnt had interest in cooking so i never used to go to kitchen & when i finished my graduation we had cook,so i never stepped in to kitchen to cook. When i came to aboard with my husband here i learnt every thing from him.Now i can prepare everything without any one's help.I love to try different recipes so i search in internet & my mom guides me in chat when i feel to eat what she used to cook.

I learned how to cook from my mom and from cook books and cooking shows. I can never exactly follow recipes, I love playing with them and trying new flavors. :]

Necessity and trial and error. My mother NEVER cooked and we were always hungry. When I moved out on my own I couldn't afford to eat out or buy expensive cuts of meat so I learned to cook using cheap ingredients and to get the most bang for my buck. I cook a mean lasagna and I make pretty good meat loaf. My burritos aren't bad either. I actually like to cook, so I am always looking for new recipes.

I learned from my big sister mostly. My mom worked full time and didn't cook very well. My sister and I used to love to cook and experiment with dinners. My poor dad and brother and the things they got stuck with! Nowadays I am pretty good at cooking and only use recipes as a basic guide.

hey..same pinch!...my mom and grandma are very good cooks..i have seen them and had tried cooking..but the same recipe did by my mom and me tastes different...i think cooking is an art...as practice makes a man perfect, when an item is cooked many times v tend to learn it well...i mostly cook on instructions given by my mom on cooking..i think i had not reached the level where i can make my own menus...

Some things I learned from my mom and my grandma. Other things I just kind of figured out on my own. I don't follow recipe's exactly. To me they are more of a basic guideline on what to use. Other times I simply wing it.

I guess you might be a little shocked to find out that I'm actually a boy! But anyway, I was also the type of guy who just didn't care less about cooking until it was time for me to go abroad to further my studies. At that time, my mum forced me to help her with the cooking and along the way, she showed me how to cut meat, vegetables etc. and how to cook them. I didn't really learn much because it was just such a short period of time learning under my mum. I guess I learned most of my cooking on my own when I arrived abroad (Australia). Here, since I am free to do whatever I want and I am eating my own cooking with no one to critique, I often try different combinations and styles of cooking, with some dishes turning out to be quite delicious. But credits still go to my mum who had a great impact in all this! =D

I learned from my mom how to make somethings. I also learned from cookbooks. And my father-in-law teaches me some things every now and then as well. From all the experience I try new things out, whether its combining some recipes or leaving somethings out.

I did watch my mom and grandma sometimes. My mom taught me how to make rice krispie treats when I was like 9 years old. I remember it quite clearly. My mom passed away when I started high school so I never really got a chance to cook WITH her. So I learned the most from Home Economics in Jr High. The rest by experience - mainly trial and error. Plus some absorbtion of info from cookbooks.

i learned from my mom and i also taught myself how to cook. But yes i like to put my own spin on things. But my boys love to try to help me cook. Maybe they will still like it when they get bigger.
