Immortality

If a genie would make you immortal and gives a condition for it would you accept it? He then gives you two conditions and from it immortality will be given to you. You have to pick one and say why you chose it. Will you be immortal but have your limbs amputated or immortal but sick with a different disease everyday?

nope! it's really nice to remain mortal and live a simple life here. we may never know, some beneficial things always come up with an exchange, although when we have it already, we must be responsible for it. (,")

But what if living forever means that you can help people more, meet more friends, taste more food and see more sites? Oh well to each his own. Your opinion is still valid. I guess you are pointing out that life wouldn't just be the same when it is forever and if the conditions are life altering.

As most wisemen says, people have no contentment, that he must learn to live both each opposite side of having power, and being powerless to know which most side are better for man..

Wow that was a very quotable quote. My theory really is: Given that man really has unlimited wants, I guess a lot of people would still like to be immortal even if there were consequences. I'd like to see more posts here though to see if my theory makes sense.

Hi there gcrew! I wouldn't want to be immortal. I wouldn't want to feel the pain of seeing all my loved ones pass away. How about you?

Well that really makes sense. I wanted to be immortal way back when I was a kid. Surprisingly this thought didn't even enter my mind. I think I'm now wishing for a longer life and not really to be immortal anymore. I totally agree that seeing your loved ones passing away before me is a difficult thing to handle.

I would rather be mortal than to be immortal with big consequences. Being mortal will make me hapier because I can lead/have a happy life and can be with heaven with God when I die unlike being immortal, I can't die, can't be with God and also have a very bad day on Earth. Plus being mortal, I can enjoy a normal life, meaning I can love and be loved.
