Book Reports

I remember whenever I was in school and would have to do a "book report" that I wouldn't read the entire book. Just certain areas of it. I would then do my report and usually get a really good grade on it. Have any of you ever done anything like this before?

I wished I could have a lot of answer for this discussion, but I was a really notorious boy at school, ha! I tend to "copy" my work and especially book reports. But I am not like that now, and I have been more responsible especially in my line of work now that I'm a grown-up. Good post here.

Yeah, I was what they call the teachers pet...lol. I didn't do it on purpose though. I was just a good student and helped the teach out a lot.

Well, it depend on how long the book report is. Our book reports are just usually written in an index card and consists mostly of a paragraph. But it resembles a book chapter report more than a book report. We have to write a report in an index card on each chapter of the book. It includes my insight, some event or happening in the chapter that made come to that insight and give a generalization of it. Maybe you've picked the certain areas excellently because if you've read those certain areas that truly make a mark and is important, it would help make you're report without even going through the whole book. Maybe you're also great at piecing stories together just by knowing some parts of the events you can deduct and guess at what really happened in the incident. This means that you have great imagination. Congratulations! Keep feeding that while being grounded. It could be handy when needed.^_^

I think I'am pretty good at piecing the events together. I'am also a little intuitive. How times have changed though. I never had to write out a book report on index cards. Appreciate your response.

Hehe. Maybe it was just my teachers' unorthodox way. She's a really good teacher and she handled many classes so I guess it was her way of making us really read a whole book by reporting on its chapters and it also helps her check all those papers by having to read at least a paragraph form a student each week. Im not sure if she's retired but when she was my teacher she cut back on the classes she handled. Im not sure if she's willing to retire just yet because I know she loves teaching very much and she was one of the pioneer teachers of our school. It would be sad if she retires because even if we are 'scared' of her, we do learn a lot and in advance. We get to learn the introductory stuff in college when we were in high school so I already had an idea on some of the first year college lectures were.
