How do you relax when things are out of your control?

I'm fed up, I'm stressed out, I'm really, really annoyed.
I've just had some news which means that all the plans we've been building for the last months will have to remain on hold for goodness only knows how long.
I can't do anything to move the situation along, and being powerless to act is driving me nuts.
So how can I relax and calm myself down? It's the powerless bit that's getting to me, the not knowing what's going to happen and having to rely on other people.

Actually, I went outside earlier & smashed a really horrid jug by chucking at a wall as hard as I could. Then I yelled at it for good measure. Thankfully I haven't got any close neighbours so I could throw my paddywhack in privacy. Although it hasn't actually changed anything, at least I won't need to get blinding drunk now.
