i washed a pack of gum in my son's jacket. it was a dark load and smells very minty! any help or advice at all would help me . there is gum on most of the cloths, jeans , 1 jacket, dark tshirts and 2 fleece hoodies (i reversed them to protect their front design-woo hoo). will washing them again help (heating the gum back up) or make it worse?

Stick the clothes in the freezer to get the gum frozen hard. It should be easier to chisel it off that way. Sorry that happened - that sucks. :o( I definitely wouldn't heat the gum, as it will just melt and get all over the place and could ruind you washer/dryer.

hi ihearttinytim, remember the days when gum was in a sealed package and you had to pop them out..it seems they are making the "new" gum these days the old way.thanks for the comment †

Well,i got one. put the clothes in your refrigerator, wait until the gum becomes stiff, use a knife to get it off from the clothes. i haven't tried, just heard this on the internet. who knows, u can have a try if you'd like:)

hi all. i really appreciate all your comments! i tried the freezer and hand picked off what i could. it just looks like stains on the fleece and the blue jeans were for play anyway..
thank you all again!

You might try some "Oops" or Goo Gone. Both are supposed to remove gum. I found both at Wal Mart, except that lately Wal Mart hasn't had Oops. I am fairly sure that you can find Oops at a hardware store or Home Depot or Lowes. I really liked the Oops since it didn't stain what I was removing stuff from. Both are washable in warm water and laundry soap, which gets the little bit that is left behind.
