Happy St. George's Day!

St. George patron saint of England - Saint George in a typical image of him slaying the Dragon

To all English people everywhere. It's good to see that public bodies, the catering and entertainment industry, and even schools are starting to take pride in our national day. St. Patrick's Day, for example, was alaways made more of in London, it seemed, than our own national saint's day. Good Luck to the Irish, I say, I love St. Patrick's but how good to see the red and white of St. George in the pubs and it will be flown over Downing Stret today, too! God Save The Queen!

Happy St. George's Day Michael. I have just heard on the news that St. George's flag is flying at 10 Downing Street, and at all official government buildings, on the instructions of the Prime Minister (who is Scottish). Later today I will be going to an official St. George's Day Fair at the Hard in Portsmouth, just outside the Historic Dockyards where Lord Nelson's ship is in dry dock and the remains of the 15th century warship Mary Rose are preserved.
