courier charges

Hi my friend lives in Germany,i want to send her gift on her birthday. but the courier charges r very high more than Rs. 1000 . wha to do?? what about Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service?? is it a courier service?? if yes ,then can i use it,i live in india.

Consult with your local post office for this. Also try getting in touch with her post office as well. When in doubt, do an Internet search.
