I want to grow indoor plants.I dont want to buy plants bcoz i am living in aboard & if i have to go back to my country i have leave all my plants back here & I get very much attached to plants & i will feel very sad to leave them.So i dont want to spend money on that.I also like to use fresh veggies with no chemicals sprayed on it & also i want to decorate home with indoor plants. So is there any veggi plants which can be grown inside home? Your post is very improtant for me.

You might wish to check out hydroponic growing. There is a small pump that pumps water through the root system that has the plant food and you can put plant growing lights over the plants so that you can grow the plants at any time of the year and almost any kind of plant.

I know exactly how you feel. I have had to leave behind many plants. I would suggest try growing herbs. I know most herbs and spices can be grown inside but I'm not sure about vegetables. I think most need plenty of room to grow and a lot of soil. I have seen people grow mini oranges in the house and have started lemon and lime trees from seeds. A porch is the best place for container vegetable gardening, do you have a porch?

I don't think you'll have much luck in growing a great variety of vegetables, but things like lettuce, radishes and spinach will grow indoors if you have a sunny spot for them. You said the soil is sandy, but that should be no problem for those plants, as long as you give them plant food and they have enough water. Good luck!

I have had luck growing fresh herbs indoors. Ihave gorwn basil, chives and rosemary indoors. You can grow them from little seeds, which are very inexpensive. If you have a very sunny wndow, I bet you can grow vegatables indoors too. Maybe something like peppers or lettauce?
