Navigating Mylot

Hello, I'm new here and I am having a little trouble finding my way around Mylot. I was hoping some of you could give me a few pointers. How do I check for comments left on my answers and how do I check to see what my friends are up to? I would greatly appreciate any advise you can give me. Thank you!

mylot automatically sends you an email notification whenever a user responded to your discussion or when your response recieved a comment.
that can be seen on your preferences.
and about your friends activities, view your friend's profile then you can see lots of links about your friend

hey girls and boys..im new here too, and finding it really hard after being so used to the 'other place'!!! lol.
I cant seem to add a picture to my profile..i did add a couple but they have come up as 'my picures' what am i doing wrong???
