Winnipeg, Canada - With winter being over and spring in full affect street cleaners are in full force cleaning up the sand and salt from the slippery winter. They were cleaning up Main Street near Templeton around 1am Tuesday morning when a woman in a Dogde Neon swung around 2 street cleaners and drove into a city worker who was putting up street signs. Joan Ann Henderson (51) has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm. She is now in custody at the Remand Center. That is a sad story. Here are people who are doing their job and trying to make a living and all of a sudden they got an accident. And here is another person, driving without caution thinking that he owns the street without minding the people working there. I mean, I bet there were signs that indicate that "road work". All drivers know what to do when you see that sign. (I just passed that driver's written test yesterday and it was one of the questions). I am really sad about this story.

This happens so much. People who think they are invicible and will never get caught. The guy who was struck by this woman has severe lower body injuries and is so young. He is truly lucky to be alive. Some people are not so fortuante. Yes signs are posted when they do street work let alone the street cleaners are big, are very slow and have flashing orange lights ontop. How can you miss that. If you are a city worker as well you have to wear the proper reflective vests as well.
