Add this interest...?

I usually click "no thanks" but every once in a while I will notice "boy, I sure do answer alot of questions in that category!" lol...so, in the end I finally click "yes". How about you...do you just add every time you answer a question in that category or do you wait and see if you seem to be hitting 'no thanks' for the same category over and over before deciding to add it...?

That question seems to come up every time for me. I don't mind answering "no thanks" often, but it seems to me mylot should automatically know the category is already in my list of interests. I'm not going to add the same interest again and again. Once it's there that should be enough.

anyway, if it is in your interest list already, it won't ask you again. normally it doesn't for me.
But there are some different categories of the same interest and it might be the reason for your situation, like this:
The people I love:
Father
The Roles I play in Life
Father
As you already see,the same interest can be mentioned in different categories. This is just an example of course,there was not a category of "people I love" as I remember but I just used it to give an example. To sum up, I mean if you add it in one of the categories, it might come up for the second one later but if you add it also,they will never ask you to add an interest which is already added to your list.
Additionally, the same thing also possible for typos. There can be some "typos" version of an interest and normal. like this:
The games I enjoy:
Fifa08
Fifa 08
Fifa 2008
Fifa2008
As you already see,these are all same but the computer might think they are different because they are made by using different character values.
In order to prevent this issue, I usually add all the possibilities which an interest would take in others' hands

I pretty much always hit the yes buttton. I may not always respond to questions in that category but I feel the more interest I have the more options I allow myself with for starting a discuusion. You know like those times when you go blank? I might go through my interest and see if anything there sparks my interest at the time. (lol)

Actually, I am not doing as you already do. I am keen on adding new interests here on mylot because I like to find more discussions which I can write a response for. And as you can guess, you never know where those discussions would come up.
So if an interest shows me a discussion that takes my attention,then I immediately add it to my list because that means many others also might be on the way.
So far I haven't seen any disadvantages of adding so many interests but only some little advantages when you are bored. I mean, you can look for some different discussions which are started in other interests, and even old ones. you can find very good questions which you would love to give a response! :)
I am not into starting so many discussions in a day. I just don't have that much inspiration or something. So, I prefer to reply other discussions instead but it really gives my reward also. And adding more interests gains more advantage in that situation.

Once I can relate to an interest I add it. You never know when you will want to contribute something towards anything you can relate to. The more the merrier and this is about variety and more and more interests !
