See, our original plans were to visit Washington DC for Earth Day but they got rained out for three days so we changed are plans and headed to Buffalo NY. We were gone for two days (the ride up and back took 7 1/2 hours), the first day we visited the falls and stayed in Buffalo NY. We took the scenic route instead of the highway on the way there and got great pictures of Amish farms and buggies and then the valleys.
We took a elevator down to the bottom of the falls and it felt so spiritual being next to that water. Im glad my boyfriend persisted because I didnt want to go at the bottom at first because we went to every other observation deck and angle there was but it was nothing like being right under it with the mist falling down on you.

I was sold, all I could think was this is my kind of place.
We visited Toronto and even outside of the city coming in was impressive. The buildings are gigantic, even the Taco Bell, EVERY building can be seen from the road with huge signs instead of billboards. The people there were nice and chatting was not a nuisance and they have a Dunkin Donuts equivalent called Tim Hortons, they are everywhere and all in proximity to Subway. What I like most was not feeling like you were being rushed when ordering things and treated courteously. We didnt go to any McDonalds or fast food places but portion sizes are different! I love that. The small is like half the size of a medium here, and a Medium is like the size of a SMALL here, and a large is like the size of a MEDIUM here.
Nearly every storefront had recycling drop offs that were split into plastic, paper and trash and I don't get what is sooooo hard about doing the same here.
The parks were BEAUTIFUL and seemed to be connected for the most part but what I like was seeing the houses on the very top of the hills above the park that seemed to mock french architecture, they were beautiful. The whole city seemed to have a thing for lots of open windows and one huge apartment building we drove by at night, it seemed like there was hardly any windows with their curtains drawn.
CHINATOWN, we just walked into this one small resturant and it was ALL asian people and we were not stared at and it was nice having this one full round table of asians having a good time and carrying on without a care, something you dont get to see in your usual corner store chinese store. I ordered ginger fried oysters (not like here but fried and in a sweet gravy sauce), yu fun, minced beef egg drop and all were great.
They had a windmill which was cool to see crossing the walk bridge over to the edge of the water. Going to a local art gallery was fun and they have districts that have plenty of them, like Queens Quey, Queen Street, Spadafina.
This city definately has me interested to see what else Canada has to offer (been to Montreal, thats it, wasnt as impressed as I was with Toronto) and want to come back!!Anybody have any opinions or experiences of the places I mentioned??

Well it has been years since I have been to niagra falls but it was one of my favorite places to go, I really like it at night when the lights are shining on the water it is breath taking. Much prettier from the canadian side too I think. I also loved going to Toronto, I loved the floral gardans there.I sure would love to go back again/

Well, Im glad someone agrees because I thought maybe I got a little too excited but when we finally got back home I was still thinking about my next trip there. I didnt get to see it at night but the effect of being under the falls with the water right up on you was just something so great to experience, both physically and spiritually. There were so many tulips everywhere and planted in decorative pots right in front of the doorways, I loved that, did you go for a honeymoon--i saw that on some t-shirts.
