We had a nice little camper for a few years but my husband wouldn't pull it anywhere.
I would rather take a camper to the beach and stay in a camp-ground.
But he made a good point, for what it would cost in gas to pull the thing around you can stay in a motel and not have all the aggravation of hooking up and stuff.

I would rather drive. It is much more convienent for me. A RV is so big and it would be hard to drive it someplaces. When I am on vacation I want to go whereever it is I am wanting to go. Also I like staying in a motel. The motels I choose always have a swimming pool so I can go swimming while I am there.

My husband would absolutly have to be the one to drive. My husband and kids would rather stay at a motel with the pool but i would just like to be able to stop on a whim to look around and spend as much time in one place as i wanted but with gas prices a car and motel would probably be best.

When I was young my family of 6, would drive from Cocoa Beach, Florida to Helena, Montana every year in the summer. We had one of those old Plymouth station wagons and we pulled one of those wind and pop up trailors that would pop out on the sides when opened fully. We would stay in KOA campgrounds along the way. It would take us 3 days to get there. I was able to enjoy and see most of the United States this way. We would take the long way home by way of California, across and thru Texas to Florida.
I wish my kids could appreciate the joy and bonding time I experienced with my siblings. There is no way I could drive cross country with my 2 teenagers. Someone would die for sure.
Families now days don't seem to take the time to drive and travel like in the old days. Of course, gas prices are ridiculous!!!!!! I guess people prefer to fly now.
