A Movie with Story Line or Just Effects?Which 1 You Prefer?

I would rather watch a movie that had a good story line or was really funny or something, than a movie that was all about the effects. I find with a lot of movies that have had effects as their primary selling point just have way too much effects and not enough substance. It makes it very easy for the viewer to forget what the movie is actually about.

I guess for me it really depends on the story. But since you gave two movies to choose from, I would pick Lady in the Water over Gladiator because I think Id be more interested in the storyline of Lady in the Water. I do like Gladiator and I think the costumes, set and hte performance of teh actors are quite good but I think id be more interested to know about things that I dont already knwo. With gladiator I knew about them in history class but with Lady, Id be more interested to knwo what are these beings that they are mentioning in the trailer and I would want to know who is the guardian, healer, etc., and how would they save the the 'lady'. Id be guessing who the characters are while the sory is progressing and in teh end I would want to knwo if my guesses are right or not. But if you would have said to choose between 'The Pursuit of Happyness' or Lady in the Water, then I would have to say Id watch Pursuit over Lady because id want to know how the main characters triumphed over all adversities faced their way. What happened in their lives that made them homeless and spend nights in public bathrooms. An added plus to this is the fact that its based on a real persons experiences. The movie might not have made it exactly as the person experienced it but still its the same emotions, same expriences, same success and same 'happyness'.

it has to be both, good story line and special effects this will make any movie worth watching.....
