What is "Low oil press" of Diesel Generator?

I have diesel power generator. It has a good setup with enough diesel. but For some days it shut down automatically. And In the control panel the light of 'Low oil press' Blinks. What is the problem? there is sufficient diesel and battery is okey?
So can you explain the function of Low oil press.

Its a Low Oil Pressure light and it is coming on to protect the diesel motor driving the generator. There will be a sensor in the oil tank that detects the oil level. Unless the sensor is defective, it is telling you that the oil level is getting to the point where serious damage will occur. To help counter this the low oil pressure circuit is there to prevent that from happening. Check the oil level!!!
