I’ve seen a lot of body piercings over the last few years and they seem to be getting even more popular all the time. Tongue rings, lip rings, belly rings, ones in your eyebrows, and even in your chin and nose. I’ve also heard that ppl get nipple rings and even genital piercings. All I can say is OUCH! I can’t even imagine ever getting one anywhere let alone in my private area. Some say they’re sexy and increase your pleasure but I just couldn’t do it. I’m not criticizing those that have them…they are a lot braver then I am…I just couldn’t do it. Do you have any other then the typical ears? What possessed you to get them? Do you think it’s cool, sexy or a form of self-mutilation? Would you want your spouse or children to get them? Have you ever gotten one and then got rid of it b/c you changed your mind? Do you find them a turn-on if your partner has them? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I'm with you on this subject. This past week we were on vacation and my 14 yr old asked if he could get his nipple pierced! I said, not until you are 18, and hopefully by then you will realize that it is just gross! Then of course, we were at the pool and saw a guy with his nipple pierced! OUCH is right! It looked painful to me. My 19 yr old wanted his ears pierce when he was 13 and I told him he could when he was 18. By then, he realized it wasn't cool after all.

I'm allergic to just about every metal they make piercing posts out of. I did have my ebrow done...twice. It healed up once because I had to remove it after an accident to allow my face to heal(injury wasn't caused from the piercing). And the second time I had to allow it to close after a pretty bad infection. I also have my ears, but rarely wear anything due to the infection that always occurs. I've always wanted my lip done, but not willing to go through the pain to find out I'm allergic there too. I think, for me, its just a beautification measure. I like the way it looks, if you keep elegant and simple. I know a few people that take it to the extreme, and I believe for these its a way to get noticed.

I just have my ears pierced, and that is all I want. If I saw a guy with a lip, nose, or eyebrow ring, I would probably be turned off. Because I have met guys with those things, and even if I think oh, they are pretty good looking, I've never seen their looks enhanced by a peircing. So I'd rather not have a partner with any piercings.

My ears are pierced because I always hated the pain of clip ons.My father was against it saying to me "why don't you put a bone thru your nose, too". My stepdaughter has a tongue ring and several ear piercings. My son also had his tongue pierced. I dont like piercings in other places. I might consider a fake belly button one if I had a nice belly, but I am not in favor of other piercings. Nor am I in favor of tats all over the body like 3 of my 4 kids have. Yuck.

i have my nose and my nipple pierced. the nose was for the heck of it, and the nipple was for pleasure. my girlfriend gets a kick out of it, i'm pretty conservative looking so her knowing that i have that under my bra really gets her going.. it didnt hurt that much.. my girlfriend did have her nipples done and now only has her tongue done..

I am so old fashioned that I could not mutilate my body that wasy. and too I am a bit of a coward when it comes to pain and not in my private parts at all. I didnt even have my ears pierced thats howmuch a coward I am. I like to keep my body intact just the way God made me which is good enough for me.I do not think its cool or sexy just self=mutilation.

You are right, there is no usefull need for that crap. Never mind the pain, what's the good reason.

I saw a guy at the department store the other day who (I think) had ear stretching earrings.. Unless he just had very large ear lobes and very large earrings too. They were big and round and were fitted atop the lobe.. It looked like lobe stretching to me, which previously I'd only seen on documentaries of isolated (still primitive) tribes in Africa.. No, I didn't stare, but I wanted to. As to piercings I have as you said the staid ear piercings for pierced earring, one pair. Hubby has one closed up hole from years (and years) ago. I'm thinking our daughter can wear more than one pair of earrings at a time, but I may be wrong! Isn't that terrible? How observant am I? She doesn't wear many earrings these days is my only excuse. I do have a niece however who has a brow piercing and a tongue piercing.. anything else, I haven't asked!

Yeah you would think that would hurt mainly in those area's well all the area's they are getting pierced... I am not sure though I would even want to get pierces all over my body there isn't anything that is very attracting about them... I think it's a major turn off actually... I do know someone not in person but online that has everything you can imagine pierced, nipples, ears, nose, mouth, you name it.. Of course I wasn't going to be rude and say man you look nasty like that instead just walked away... I wasn't judging them fact of all the pierces he was just a strange person all together...

LOL so many questions!! Do you have any other then the typical ears? Yep...I have my down below pierced twice and would like to get my ear done again, my eyebrow, my belly (had it done twice but got infected the first time and rejected the second time..I'm gonna try one more time) and possibly my n!pples What possessed you to get them? I love body art in many of its forms and I just wanted them Do you think it’s cool, sexy or a form of self-mutilation? Well I'm a bit old for trying to be "cool" LOL, I do find them sexy and it could be a form of self mutilation I suppose..maybe to some ppl thats the whole reason for doing it actually..to each his own relaly Would you want your spouse or children to get them? If my husband or bf wanted to who am I to say anything about it ya know...My kids do both want piercings and tats and I'm all for it PROVIDED they think long and hard about it (which they have since they've been bugging me for a few yrs now LOL) Have you ever gotten one and then got rid of it b/c you changed your mind? Nope...I'd never do something to myself that I hadnt thought it over thoroughly ya know..when it comes to things like that I dont do it on a whim.. Do you find them a turn-on if your partner has them? Hard to say since neither of them do..and I doubt my husband would since he's not into that sort of thing but my bf would and I have to say that I think ti would look hot on him LOL then again I may hate it LOL who knows ya know

I only have my ears pierced also. I thought about getting my eyebrow pierced at one time. I am not sure about the pain of having that done though. Now looking back and thinking about it there is no way I would want to have it down.

No, I am not allowing anyone to put any more peircings in my body. I have my ears peirced once only and I feel that is plenty. I don't understand what the point is in having your tongue peirced as it seems it would be a hinderance in eating. I have a cousin who has it done and he is constantly moving it around in his mouth and I feel that it is so annoying!!

Okay I will admit that I do have my belly button pierced. I didn't do it because everyone else has done it, but I did it because I think they look cute. My husband and I have both agreed that when our children turn 18 and they want to get any piercings or tattoos then we don't mind as long as they let us go with them so they go somewhere good and not have a bad experience. As for the pain of getting my belly button pierced. Believe it or not it didn't hardly hurt. I think getting my ears pierced hurt worse. They clamp the area off and by the time they pierce it, it has gone numb. So you feel maybe a little pinch as if someone was pinching you.

I have my ears double pierced, with the lower holes stretched to 4 gauge, along with a nostril piercing and cartilage piercing. I also used to have my belly button pierced, but had a lot of problems with the healing and took it out. My fiance has his ears double pierced also, with the lower holes at 5/8" and the upper holes at 6 gauge. He also has a labret piercing, and used to have an industrial (bar across the top of his cartilage), but he had problems healing the latter. So yeah, I definitely like piercings (and tattoos), and I suspect that if we ever have children, they will probably want them as well. I won't have a problem with that as long as they get their piercings done in a sterile environment by a professional.

Hi twoey, this is a rather old discussion, but i just made a discussion on the same topic kind of, and this popped up at the bottom so i thought i'd respond to it for the heck of it! I was a lil bit of an angry teenager, so for fun i would put holes in my body.. a way to get back at my dad i guess ;P i had 7 earings in one ear, and four in the other, i had one in my nose.. i did those all myself except the first two. later on when i was of age to get them done myself without consent i got my belly button done, but that was constantly infected over and over again so i took it out. and i have had my tongue done twice. the first time i had an operation and had to take it out and it healed over before i could get the barbell back in. and most recent i had my lip pierced.. a verticle labret, straight up the lip.ball on the top of your lip and ball on the bottom of your bottom lip. not that popular of a piercing.. it flippin hurt more then any other i've had. but when i had babies, i took them all out.. wanna be a good role model ;)

My ears are done, my son did an ear and I think the Navy put an end to him wearing an earring (thanks Navy) but they were not able to cure him of the tattoo habit. Some of those people with piercings scare me, they look like lightning rods. I remember counting some kid at a restaurant taking orders, I stood in line and counted 43 piercings in his face. I lost my appetite and left.

I have 3 holes in each ear, but that's it. I am not going to put holes in other places, especially the more delicate places, as I don't really like them and having kids means some of them would be too risky with little fingers around (not the ones in more delicate areas of course!). If other people want them, then that's their choice. It is a form of self expression and each person is entitled to express themselves. Me, I prefer using my writing to express myself and my cross stitch too.

I had 18 prior to me becoming a mommy. Now I'm down to 15. I'll probably get repierced eventually but it is not a priority. I've never dated any one with anything pierced but the ears, although I can't remember dating anyone without a tattoo. I have yet to get a tattoo... they are permanant, piercings can be taken out. The largest hole I've had was through my septum (the middle bit of your nose that separates the nostrils) I had it so large that at parties I'd put a pencil in it like a bone at request. At the time I lived in Philadelphia, and had shaved my head clean... So you can imagine the type of people I partied with. Anyhow, I'm a housewife now... I've mellowed quite a bit, but the moms at the PTA meeting still look at me like I have lobsters coming out of my ears. My mate has started to stretch his ears, he wants to have disks put in. I think thats cool for him but I wouldn't want mine stretched. My oldest daughter likes the little stud I wear in the side of my nose, but she is chicken to get it done yet. (She is 10) She only has her ears done twice. My son is unimpressed either way. My youngest daughter calls my piercings "pretties", so I guess she'll be asking when she gets older. Personally I'd prefer my kids get pierced to tattooed... If they change thier mind they can just pop them out.

Hello honey. Both me and my girlfriend agree on this topic - a certain NO NO for piercings :) She has none apart from the typical ears. I don't find them cool, i have even seen some when i was in school get infected and it was pretty nasty and gross, not at all sexy seeing it inflated BLEAH. i don't want any and i don't want my girlfriend getting any, luckily she doesn't either, so we agree on this. I have nothing against people who have them, i am not here to judge.
