When you're quiting your job, do you give your employer the 2 weeks notice that is usually required? I will admit that I'm guilty in the past of not giving my notice BUT honestly, I didn't realize what kind of mess it leaves behind until I am in a job that is constantly losing staff.

for sure the employer was worried of someone immediately lost, thats why its called a job cause you are designated to a field which requires your presence... i wonder how did they reacted about that... i just ended my contract in a certain company and i hated the job (lots of evaluations and degrading laderized system).. how bout you whats your next plan of employment after quitting a job?

As of right now, I'm a direct care worker in a group home. I recently found out that 8 weeks pregnant so I've decided to keep this job until after the baby is born. When I do find another job, I plan to put my two weeks in because it's not fair to anyone left behind. It surely is quite a mess!

hi kangel, i haven't do it but by standard of procedure, it is recommended at least two weeks before or more than depending on company's own rule on resignation. no experience on this, digerati

I always give notice. Now a few places I have worked paid me for the 2 weeks, but I didn't work the two weeks because of the clients that we had (sales mentality).

if they've treated me fairly,i do. but i've had a couple of jobs where it wasn't even worth going on one more hour. i had one that bounced my check week after week and still threw overtime on me.no way they were getting notice.i wasn't even sure i'd get paid.
