stressing out!!!!

So my husband started a new job the second week of February. This new job is about 123 miles away from where we are living now, and in a different state. The shift he works is 12 days on 6 days off. We STILL haven't found a place to live and now we have to move in with my mom because it looks like the apartment we'll probably get into has a $1,200 deposit (which is more than twice the monthly rent). We can afford it, but it would really put a strain on us so we just decided it was better to save a little extra money and wait it out at my moms. We did have another place lined up, but our landlord gave us a negative reference. Our landlord has been to our apartment TWICE in the last 2 years and 8 months. Both times they came up because we were really sick and they brought us soup. Of course, the place was messy - I was sick and unable to clean. So the landlord told the apartment we applied to that we kept our place a MESS!!! I went down there the day I found out (they live right below us) and had them come up and see the place and told them this is how I usually kept it. I called back the place that they gave a negative reference too and told them that the landlord would like to change it and they said "too bad". At least I don't have to worry about it happening again, though. I haven't lived at home since I was 16, though, so this will be weird.
