I have to say, my daughter is an amazing girl! By all means though...if you are reading this sweetie...keep your head from growing. ha ha Anyways, my daughter is amazing! She has gotten straight A's since 3rd grade. She is on the yearbook staff in high school (2nd year) and is the Editor (probably editor next year too)! :) She entered her photography work into the Reflections contest at school and won on levels of school, disctrict, and state. Now her photo is being advanced to National judging. She is an amazing sister to her siblings and keeps me sane when I have just had enough. She has been known to brush my hair when I am crippled in pain from a migraine. And then this past Sunday....I had yet another thing to be grateful about...to add to that list of her wonderful qualities!!!! I was sick with some kinda food poisoning Sunday...and come Sunday evening when my partner was going to bed, I started getting the chills that shook my body uncontrollably! No matter how much I tried to relax, my body would not stop shaking and it hurt! My partner told me to take a hot bath but refused to draw the bath for me. However....my daughter to the rescue!!!! Not only did she draw me a not too hot bath when a person is sick with chills, she also sat on the edge of my garden tub while I hugged my knees trying to stop shaking and poured warm water on my back with a big plastic cup! Go ahead....Awwwwwwww! You would not believe how much she was my hero!!!!! So, for those of you that do not know....this summer my daughter will be having surgery on her back for her scoliosis. It is not an easy surgery or recovery because the incision and fusion amount is larger than norm...anways, for those that know and love me and my daughter this is what I am asking....please help to be her hero in turn. I will post information when the surgery is done and where she is, if you would help by sending love, prayers, positive and healing energies, and of course....chocolates and or flowers. (Anyone close enough...visits are welcome!) She will be giving up her entire summer to being home bound and recovering, in hopes that it will not effect her Junior school year and her 3rd year on yearbook staff. She so wants to have the best possible chance at a great scholarship for college because she knows that we will not be able to help her. SO....this wonderful, amazing, smart, beautiful girl will need lots of love in turn this summer....all summer. Her surgery date is scheduled very very early on May 21st....please keep her in mind and I will keep you informed. Above is from my blog...as I am trying to get back to here. (Love ya Zu!:) So...since it is my blog and my own words, I thought it would be fitting to share. And I guess I should ask a question to help make this into a discussion.... Who is your hero in your life that does the simple things that mean so much? Care to share?

Awwwww--is right.. So glad to see you here brokentia, as you've been kind of missing in action here..really missed you. You're daughter is truly amazing with all her accomplishments and how she takes care of you, despite all the problems she has. I've been wondering about that, as I know of all the horrible pain you mentioned long time ago that she's had with her scoliosis and my deepest prayers and wishes is that her surgery this summer will help her. (((hugs))) to both of you!!

brokentia you have a very lovely wonderful daughter and of course you are rightly proud of her. And it sounds like she has a great mom too. usually takes a great mom to produce a great daughter. I will be sending my prayers for you both as she goes through soliosis surgery and a lot of positive thinking soshecan absorb our positive rays lol. I bet she willcome through with flying colors and then go on to get that coveted scholarship she needs so badly. I wish only good things for you both god bless.
