After all the incident that has happened here, I am of the opinion that the gremlins that are running around giving negative ratings to us here especially those who are with blue star are none other than people who got banned from mylot. Check on the link, response No.9 and tell me what do you think of this person. I have responded to one of his discussions and he got really annoyed by my comment. The next thing I know he responded to almost all my discussions with nice comment except for this one. The next day, my ratings gone down drastically. I am not pointing fingers here but having read what his comment on this particular discussion of mind, I can more or less confirm he is the culprit.

Hope it won't get deleted.

Ok, this might get me in trouble but...that user is a friend and I want to assure you that from everything I know about (him), (he) doesn't give negatives without cause but is a stickler for the guidelines. I may or may not agree with (his) methods but rating that particular post with a negative was technically justified provided the TOS were the same back then...and I'm pretty sure they were. I can't comment on the others because I didn't read them and don't want to right now (busy day at home!) The user you are referring to is not malicious, if he rated you with a negative it was because it was deserved for one reason or another. He is passionate about his positions and does tend to come off a bit gruff...but really is a good person.
I'm sorry about what happened to you...my guess would be that the culprit(s) are on your friends list and when this other user responded to your discussions they all came back to the top of the list for your "friends" making you a very easy target.

Well my guess is my guess so I have a right to it and it may or may not be right...
I know that post was old...11 months I believe. I remember the big uproar of people talking about how we weren't supposed to leave thank you comments like that because so many were confused by the rule. I was here back then too.
Why did he leave a negative and comment that he did? Because he could. How many times do we see "ooh I like what you said I'm giving you a positive"...same thing. The age of the discussion doesn't matter. If mylot didn't want old discussions to get commented on then they would delete them. I have argued and disagreed with him plenty and he never "took revenge" so from what I have seen of him, he does behave. Like I said, he gives out negatives when deserved.

Have you noticed that particular discussion was one year ago? Back then, most of mylotters give a thank you as a response. And these mylotters have blue stars and they are people who give quality discussions. Can you give me a simple explanation why on earth did he go and rate negative to a one year old discussion? Why did he has to leave a comment that he has done so? And on that day, he has practically leave nice comments to almost all of my discussions, old and new. He might be nice to you or to his friends who are in agreement with him. But those that didn't meet to his approval anger him and he took revenge. Do you think that this is good behavior? My friends list is over a year ever since I have become a member. I have my star rating decreased before but not to the extreme. My star rating went drastically down after I had a disagreement with him in one of his discussion about religion. So, your guess is not quite right.

I happen to know that person too, though he has many names, he is one good and honest (vocal) member here. Though he's not a friend of mine, I know he's activities and follows some of his posts as well.
This is what I always think, I always apply this on my everyday routine here on mylot. Always read and check the guidelines, TO's and everything that could help you in posting here. Sometimes, as we happen to be happy while posting our way in here, we never noticed that we are violating the guidelines already. Either by starting our own posts or by simply responding, so it's always best to review those rules.
Always remember that we are all here to contribute, and not just simply post discussions and chat along. There are rules to follow, so I suggest that you read and understand them rules to avoid stars and ratings to drop, earning deductions and as well as reputations.
Hope this enlightens you, good luck and happy posting..

Nope.. What I'm saying is, you should already know and is aware why you're rating went down if you happen to review the guidelines. It was not a work of one person or even two, sometimes it's the deleted discussions that causes our ratings and stars to go down.
The person is simply straight-forward, he just says what he wants to especially when he knows he's right.

OMG! Are you suggesting that I didn't read the do's and don't's here? How good can he be? Just check another link. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1465194.aspx?p=3 No. 28. Don't you think he is rude in his comment? Ok. I respect your friendship with him. You are lucky you are not in his blacklist.

What I have learned in the yr and a half plus that I have been a member here, is people come and people go, and why someone would go around marking someone as "-" just to be doing so needs to have something more to do in their life.
I never personally mark someone "-" unless they deserve it which usually would be from language, opinion, or rudeness. I would never see nothing like that here for you. Wishing you the Best, and just learn to move on from here not allowing these type of people to effect you. They will learn that it is not worth being evil in time unless they want it to effect them as well.

May be you got me wrong. What I meant was that some members who got blue stars were the target of the merciless trolls. Some who have blue star rating drastically dropped in one day. Generally, the blue star represents those who really can contribute to quality discussion and also giving quality comments. Thanks.

he has a post total of 2348 but his rating is 81/100. 8 yellow star. i read on his heading message "ask mylot why rintintin can't post". i know that there is someone here that rate us negative specially to those active in posting. if he can't post maybe she was expelled from posting because of the violation. thanks for the info.
