LASIK: Good or bad?

LASIK and laser eye surgery has been around for quite sometime now. I was really surprised about this article http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352548,00.html
The FDA is investigating LASIK because people are unsatisfied with the results. Some have diminished night vision, dry eye or their vision was worse after the procedure. I believe all these are known risks.
Have you had LASIK? Did you suffer any of the side effects?

I just heard about this last night...For a long time I was thinking wow, if I had the money I would love to get Lasik as I am near sighted and have astigmatism...it would be so great to see without glasses, but then when I heard of how some people are having really bad effects of it thought...okay nix that idea...the one woman interviewed on the news show I saw said she is virtually housebound now..her vision is all out of wack, doubled, she can't drive, she can't read, nothing--so like why take the chance? I wouldn't now even if I had the money
