You know, my mother always made it with peanut butter on both slices and then jam on both slices, then put them together. I don't know of anyone who does it that way but I always said my mom makes the best peanut butter and jam sandwich. I continue making it that way and kids who have come into my house have liked my sandwiches better than the way their mothers' make them. My kids also prefer it when I make it that way. I don't know what makes it better but I used to live off those sandwiches as a kid. What I loved to do when I was a kid was put the peanut butter on both slices of bread and then take one bite out of each before I put the jam on. I like nice fresh bread with just peanut butter on it but I loved the PB&J a lot too so I kind of had it both ways. Yum!

i only used peanut butter on a common bread. we don't use that jelly sandwich. we are not rich so all of our foods are minimal cost. although sometimes we can eat also great foods specially during party at home.
