I'm always energetic, especially at night. I usually go to bed at 1 or 2AM or so and get up before 9AM. And I don't have naps during daytime and never feel sleepy. Girls in my dormintary cannot understand how could it be! That's what I'm wondering, too. I don't know whether this could be a health problem..

It is a known fact that some people need less sleep than others. My BF usually only needs about 4-6 hrs a night and I'm about the sme (thank goodness). This is usually enough. I wouldn't worry too much. If your body isn't tired during the day then I would assume that it is getting enough sleep. Don't let other people tell you differently. Just do your own thing! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Everybody needs about 6-8 hours of sleep. Sleep help us to rest and refresh. If we lack sleep then it makes us irritable. Like you retire at 2am then I think it would be okay if you wake up at 9 am . They say if we sleep less our cells in the body will not function well and we age easily. So we make sure we sleep about 6 to 8 hours.

Hello, ranki! we need 7/8 hours good sleep in the night since sleep is a natural healer.it is a remedy for many maladies.any deviation to this amount of sleep may contribute to an array of diseases.so don't miss out on sleep and don't economise either.thanx.

I am a college student right now and I do not get to sleep that much. I am tied up with school work such as projects and homeworks. The most number of hours that I get to sleep is 5 hours. I hope I could get more because I am a sleepyhead. I just keep in mind that I am doing this for delayed gratification. It is vacation time now and I am making the most out of it. I am trying to get as much sleep as possible.

WOw! Perhaps you've had too many coffee or sweets in a day?? I dont know if its a health problem or not and I dont mind either that you just have seven hours of sleep when you retire at 2AM. Maybe your body clock is always used to waking up at 9AM and of course we contorl when we like to sleep so even if your body is an hour short of sleep it will always wake up at 9AM. Im a night owl myself I tend to be more awake at night than in the day but I love to sleep and I need at least 9-10 hours of sleep a day. Not tha I really need it, its just one of my luxuries and thankfully its the summer break when I can sleep whenever I want, how long I wnt it. I cant do that during school days so im compensating and cathing up every summer. Its nice too that you get to sleep at least 8 hours a night when you get to bed at 1AM surely I guess you wont need naps because thats the minimum sleep that our body needs in order to function properly. Im taking a chance here and Ill ask you are you anemic(low blood)? I asked because I am and I sleep and wake up in the weird hours. I actually sleep at 3AM and wake up at 1PM. I also read somewhere that our body 'manufactures' more red blood cells while we are sleeping during the night. I guess they stop when its the day so my Mom always blames my sleeping hour when ever I almost have fainting spells. I dont get them anymore though. Thats just my experience, so I guess its alright. Its only a matter of our body clocks' adjustment and be sure to eat healthy and excercise to make up for those lost sleep.^_^
