First the Sore Throat, Then No Voice and A Cold

When will this ever end. Since I am a calltaker at work, and answer phones and help dispatch cabs for Yellow Cab here in the Seattle area, I had to call in sick again today. This has been 2 times this week. I feel miserable today, and am heading back to sleep once I eat something. Since I am also Insulin Diabetic and took my Insulin I need to make sure and try and eat something. But I feel absolutely horrible today. I did go to the Drs the other day and got an antibiotic so maybe this will help some, but he only gave me one for 5 days and I will be out on Monday or Tuesday so if I still feel like this Monday I will get an apt. to see someone, and go back in. My throat is still killing me to where it hurts when I swallow, and I have no real voice to speak of either. I now cough and it hurts a little as well. So just know if you do not see me much on here over the weekend, I am not feeling well. Just remember if you are a Praying person to keep me in Prayer as well, as financially right now, we cannot afford for me to take this time off either, but I just feel too miserable. I will keep you updated.

You really are going through it at the minute, I am sorry that you are still ill. Sore throats are horrible, I only had one really bad one once and I ended up losing my voice for over 3 weeks, it was horrible. I had that many antibiotics it was a wonder I did not rattle when I walked. Hope you get well soon.

Wow, I would hate to see mine last this long. At least I have an understanding Boss, as I called him today as I am heading to a Doctor again, and he said let him know what happens from there.

It is good that you have an understanding boss then.

I had layrngitis a few years ago. I was not feeling that good and we had our Christmas Concert, but I could not cancel from it as I was in the choir. Well I got there, and I forgot to take along my scarf and so what happened, we finished the last song and as I love to sing, I sang my heart out and my voice. The song ended and suddenly I could not talk. I spent a month, drinking hot lemon and honey, keeping warm, and trying to get my voice back. I know what you are going through.

I was going to suggest some honey and lemon to ease your throat but I don't know if you should since your diabetic. Honey and lemon juice are good healers.

My fiance and I have also been sick over the weekend, and my voice is sort of scratchy and not all there at the moment. It was the worst on Saturday night, but that was because I was talking too much. We had a lazy day yesterday and both got feeling better, but it's still tough. I'm not sure if it's the pollen or other allergens in the air right now, or what. This is our first April in Seattle, so we're getting used to spring here!
