Is it the Quanity or Quality?

I have seen many post and most seem to be very random and kind of off the wall posts. I am very new here and I am not sure how this whole thing works. I know in order for me to respond to a post it has to be something I am interested in. If I find lots of typographical errors it just states that the member is just in one heck of a hurry. Take your time think of a subject that others would be interested in, cross your fingers and run with it!

They're looking for quality, and so are the good myLotians here. There are some that go for quantity, but that doesn't help their star rating. It helps to have a better star rating as well, and you get that from quality posts, not quantity. You'll get your first star at 100 posts (if I remember correctly). Welcome to myLot. We're glad that you joined us!!!

That is what I had figured, and thank you for pulling out the welcome mat for me I do so appreciate it. Still not sure how it all works but I do enjoy the interactions with many different people. If you have any tips I would love to hear them

Thanks for marking me as the best response for this discussion. Guess it "pays" to be the only responder. Don't let it get you down though, I've got many posts with only one response, and even one with no responses at all - go figure. Thanks again!!!

I'm fairly new here myself, but I get the impression that quality leads to quantity, if you see what I mean. If you start discussions with a well-typed, interesting, intelligent post, then people will be interested in replying to it, and that's when you get your earnings. I've seen loads of discussions that start with badly-spelled, boring, stupid posts and I certainly wouldn't bother replying to them - I don't imagine many other people would either. It seems to me better to build up a reputation for being intelligent, interesting and well-mannered, even if that means you don't post too frequently to start with.
