I was baptized at last christmas. But I did not hold strong faith in the religion so far. No one in my family is Christian except me. Though I go to church almost every weekend, I just do it like a kind of routine. I felt that I never have conversation with the Lord, for I seldom pray when I was alone. So I still haven't find my inner peace. I tend to get worried and uneasy. I am always weak facing those troubles happened in my daily life. I want to be brave and strong. I know that the Lord could help me. But I still haven't find the way to strengthen my faith. So could you tell me what should I do to strengthen my faith in the belief? Thank you in advance! The lord be with you!

Cheney, I have never been baptized, but me being baptized does not make me feel closer to the lord then I already am, We all have a different relationship with the lord, I often run into problems all the time, but I never ever get upset with the lord, for he is my master and I try to serve him to the best of my abilities. I have also had many good things happen to me with all the bad things, but that is life my friend, we all have our struggles. I believe by enduring these problems we face, When we have difficult times in life I believe it helps our relationship with the lord, Cheney have you ever ask the lord into your heart?

Yes, I want the lord to be in my heart eagerly. I hope I could be healed in soul, spirit, and body. Maybe I am just on my way to be a child of him.

Being baptized is not the way to become a child of God or become a christian. It is accepting and trusting Christ by faith in your heart that makes you a Christian and a child of God. If you did not truly accept Christ but just had a religion, it is nothing, and you still be going to Hell. It's easy to have a religion but it takes faith to trust in Jesus. And when you have faith in Christ, that will help you to seek the truth, and endeavor to live for God. To grow in your Christian faith, there are 5 areas that are important for this growth to happen. 1. Read your bible. When you do, God will talk to you. 2. Pray. When you pray, you will talk to God. 3. Attend Church assembly and preaching service. When you do, the preaching will help you grow and strengthen your faith. 4. Give. Giving your time, and your treasure will increase your faith, and for God to bless you. 5. Join in the church activities like soul-winning and visitation. When you do, you will see the big picture in the eyes of God.

Thank you for your advice! I am trying some of the ways you listed foregoing. Maybe my main problem is I can't have someone familiar to sharing the experience in Christ. But as I keep taking part in the church activities, I believe the problem will be solved.

I agree with Janzer! Reading the bible is a good way to start things off. I have also found reading other books by Christian authors has increased my knowledge and deepened my faith. You don't have to have special words to pray, in fact God really prefers a prayer from the heart over any fancy words. The more time you spend seeking God, listening to Christian music, reading about Him, fellowshipping with other believers etc. the more your faith will grow. It just takes time. Take heart, everyone feels like their faith is not strong enough at some time or another. God sees your heart and knows your desire to have a relationship. Run to Him, He will run to you.

Have you read the "Left behind" series? They are fiction, but hold a lot of biblical truth. Anything by Joyce Meyer is also good.

Hello cheney... I come from Indonesia that has the biggest moslem people in the world. I'm christian, the minority (less than 8%), but that condition makes our faith in Christ forged each day and get stronger. The most things that make our faith grow stronger and stronger because we encourage each other, support each other, communicate each other, help each other, while we pray to Lord. So if you want to be stronger in faith in Christ, get in touch with Christian community, share is the best way to express your problems. Individually, try to count the Lord's blessings everyday from the time you wake up in the morning...

You have the desire to strengthen your faith in God, that is the first and very important step. You need to pray (talk) to God. You don't have any special way to do it just talk to him like you would talk to a friend. He will hear you. When you feel worry or anxious or doubts, just tell Him what you are feeling. Ask Him to take care of it for you. Then go about your daily business. If the worries, anxious feelings, doubts come back, just tell God you are giving them back to him to take care of and go back to your daily routines. It doesn't hurt if you have to do this hundreds of times through the day. Each time that you do this you will be strengthened a little more. Your faith will be growing continually. You need to get into reading your Bible also. This helps put the Bible verses into your mind and heart to help you refuse to live for satan. I will whisper a prayer for you and if you need to talk to me, just message me. I will be here for you. You can do it and remember God is in control! God bless you!

Hello, Baptism alone is not enough to generate faith - it is an act of faith, but just because you are baptised does not mean you are saved. You need God's Holy Spirit in you to lead, guide, and direct your path. "You" cannot do it on your own. Wars go on daily between your flesh & your spirit and it does not matter that you are just going to church. When church seems like a "routine" then you need to check your "church" out. The "church" is actually the body of Christ that will be raptured up with Him at His coming. Your place of worship should be a place where your spirit man is fed & where you receive good fellowship and strength. Definately get into your Bible. Ask God to reveal to you His plan for your life and how to go about to strengthen your faith. Communication is key so pray daily! I believe He will lead you to the right place to go and set people in your path to help you along your way!

Reading the Bible is a good start because you are finding out what is said in the Bible. However, as well as just reading the words, you should make it a point to try to "Understand" what is being said and apply it to your daily life. Quite often, we get so obsessed by the Bible and other Holy Books, we fail to understand the more important spirit. - Example - Christ says, "Unless a man hates his father and his mother, he cannot be a follower of mine." Now, what does he actually mean by that. Do you have to hate your folks to be a Christian? Obviously not. But that phrase has deeper and you have to find it for yourself. Then there are lessons from the Christian Gospels. Try and apply them to your everyday life. Someone gives you a hard time but remember that Jesus advises us to not talk about the sawdust in the other guys eye while we forget the plank in our own. - Use things like this from the Bible and try and apply it, particularly when it comes to situations where our human instinct is to go the other way. You'll find yourself looking at life in a new perspective. Don't expect prayer to magic away your problems. Find comfort in prayer and it will give you strength to endure the trails and tribulations of life coming in their stride. Ultimately, if you have the strength and character, you'll find the faith that you need.

Yes baptism is following what Jesus did. But it is not about baptism or religion. Its about a relationship. Ones u accepted Jesus as ur Lord and Savior, u started a relationship with Him. He dwells in our hearts. Accepting God, is not an instant change, we're only human. We still commits mistakes even if we're already christians, what makes us different from others is that we easily accepts that we did somthing wrong and repent. To strengthen our faith, we have to know God more intimately and read His words. That's why there is a song, "Read your Bible and pray everyday" reading ur Bible is hearing what God wants to tell u, and praying is communicating back to Him. You'll be ok, dont rush things, it is learned...just remember, the time u accepted God, He's there with u. God bless you!!
