Avon calling...Well Not Really!!

Does anyone here sell Avon? I like Avon products in general and they are priced well. I wanted to sell them but not really all that actively. If my friends wanted to buy something they could but I wouldn't go sell to everyone and annoy them. I basically wanted to get a discount on Avon products for myself. If anyone can explain how Avon works could you please explain it to me? Maybe you sold it in the past- share those experiences too if you would like. For those of you that don't sell Avon, do you like Avon? Do you have favorite Avon products. I like their body washes and eyeshadows. Who could forget the Glazewear lip gloss... Share your Avon stories and thanks for reading.

I always buy my avon online now. They have a free shipping and some insane % off sale each month so it saves me from having to track down a sales rep since I don't work at the moment and I don't have one sitting 4 ft from me. I like avons eye liners. They are the only ones I have found that don't run and make me look like a raccoon if I sweat. And getting 2 for 2.99 is better then any deal I can find at walmart

I just started to sell Avon. It would be easier if you know a lot of people and your people knew people and so on. I'm working on my second camp. and haven't made any sales. And it's hard when there are so many other reps selling as well in my location. Basically you have to make a certain amount to even make money. For example, to get at least $5, you have to sell $25, and the more you sell, the more you make. As far as products, I use a lot of Avon products, especially their Skin So Soft. I find that's the only product I use to keep the mosquitoes away from me. Also, I like the glazewear lipsticks as well; goes on smoothly. I even found my two signature scents now, "Goddess" & "Crystal Aura". People loves the way it smells and it's long lasting without the strong scents. Good Luck on whichever decision you make.

hi pal, i have done 6 campaigns but was never able to cover the cost of the books.I needed to reach a higher profit level to cover that.I would have carried on but this time I did not get a single response.I cant just keep on wasting money and my hubby is the only one earning. So now i have left Avon. Yes their products are good and cheap too but it didnot go well with me.

I and my mom did way back when. Back then you had to sell at least $35 before you got the incentive payment. Don't know about now. If you join a program like My Points (let me know and I'll send you link) and buy from Avon through them, you get Avon prices and sales and over $40 is free shipping and you get what you want from Avon, but then something like 2-3 points per dollar from My Points (My daughter just did it and got 1,000 but I think they also give you more if you are a first time customer. I know she didn't buy that much stuff) and then you have the good price from Avon, free shipping nad points to accumulate to redeem for cash or gift card for dozens and dozens of stores. Might as well let your money make you money!

I've gotten to where anything I need, I will go to My Points first adn see if they have the store there. If it is, I buy there and collect the points. If not, then I go elsewhere, but I always check there first. I wish Amazon.com would be one of their stores! But Amazon.com is not on any of these kinds of programs!

I just quit selling avon but I was at it for 3 years. The reason I quit is because I moved and it was very inconvient for me when it came time to go pick up my orders. When I lived in a city that just turned into a town, I was enjoying selling Avon because I found the challenge of finding new customers great! What I did is ordered enough brochures to go from door to door just putting them into mail boxes with my name and phone number on the space provided on the back of the booklet. After that I would receive lots of calls for orders. When I moved I noticed everyone had PO Boxes at a their local town post office and only one of those post offices allowed me to leave brochures on the shelf, the other post office declined my request when I asked them if I could leave some there. That there, made me lose a lot of business. It was getting to the point when I went to pick up my orders I would check online, and see that there were three boxes sent from the avon online website, but when I went to pick them up, there was only one box there and I wouldn't get the other box for a week later. The final straw was when Christmas time came, I had the most orders ever because that's a usual busy time for Avon representatives. People were counting on these orders and one box came on time, and the other four didn't come until two days before christmas! I could not put any orders together until I had those other four boxes of orders! Talk about letting people down but thankfully my customers were okay with this but I was dreading the thought that what would happen if they told me they did not want the products then I would have to pay for shipping to send it all back but a miracle happened and I didn't have to. My jobplace working in a nursing home helped my Avon business and order customers that were still buying Avon products from me when I was living in that town. My favorite products from Avon were their chapsticks for lips, bubble baths, and shower gels. They have so many yummy smelling flavors and they are cheap! Good prices. Sometimes they have rediculously cheap deals for showergel for like 99 cents for a bottle.. I remember never missing out on that! I hope that if you do sell avon, you have a better experience than I do. Good luck with that

Well actually when you become an Avon Representative, they will give you a log in code for the internet and you can do all your orders online it's so much more organized now than it was years ago when aunt bea was selling it in the 70's haha! Just kidding I really don't have an Aunt Bea.. I was just comparing the times lol! Anyhow... they will also send you an email to send to your contacts from your email and they are pretty much online brochures to send out to your online friends. I forgot to mention about this before until you said about how you could send friends to your website!

I am currently an Avon representative and have been for a little over a year. I have been using the Avon products for basically my whole life. Didn't use much when I signed up because i didn't know of any reps in my area and I figured if I was going to buy it online why not buy it from myself. :) I am just now really focusing on my business as I have been extremely busy for the last year. But in the past year I have served about 35 customers on a pretty regular basis (not 35 in each campaign) my max ever in a campaign was maybe 11 - 15 I think. It's pretty simple once you get your "system" in order and get organized from the beginning. Serving businesses is probably the easiest way to make money. I started out by just doing my normal routine, doctor visits - I'd leave a brochure with the nurses and they would order every time, the loan office - I'd leave one at the front desk and they would order atleast once a month, the grocery store, restaurants, church, work, gym, gas stations, salons, and anywhere else I went throughout the week would get a brochure. That way I wasn't burning a lot of extra gas. In my first year (of not working at it, just going in my normal daily routine) I made an extra $1500. That's after costs of brochures, my personal items, samples, business tools etc. I live in a very small town and if I can do it so can you. :) But even if you are just going to sell to your friends, maybe you could get into leadership and recruit all of your friends by convincing them that they can get the same discount you do... and then make money off what they sale. There are unlimited earnings with Avon it just all depends on how positive you are and how hard working you are. I sold while having a full time job, volunteering at the church on a regular basis, taking care of home, and going to school. So I have to say doing all that and sticking with it the $1500 wasn't a bad deal. Yes the products are the best, my skin has been great as long as I stick to a regime, my favorite products would have to be the volumizing shampoo, glazewear liquid lip color, all of the eye make up, and the smooth mineral makeup has worked wonders on my skin! :) Just a few of my favorites but not quite all of them. I hope this has helped you. If you are interested in learning some more before making your final decision of signing up to sale just send me a message and I'll be glad to answer any questions. If I don't know the answer I will find it for you!

I used to sell Avon. I had fun doing it I guess and yes you get heaps of free stuff plus access to heavily discounted stuff only for sellers. The only thing is, you have to sell quite a lot to make any decent money out of it. It's good for just a bit of extra pocket money. You'll find that you have regular buyers who buy something from most campaigns. I found it quite fun to make up the brochures and drop them in letterboxes. It also helps you get to know some of the people in your neighbourhood. So if you're after a bit of extra money and something to do in your spare time (not to mention samples galore!) Avon's fun. Just be careful not to spend the money people give you. That was my mistake. If I was running short before pay day i would take some of the Avon money thinking I'd put it back as soon as I got paid form my normal job but that never happened. So if you can handle your money well i say go for it!

es you have to get few big orders to get a profit as well as cover the cost of the books. This is one thing i could never do.How can you know p[eople by just dropping books into their letter boxes???That is something I really want to know.No Avon does not give a fair share of the mnoney they earn through us.

I have tried avon products even tried selling but the market is so over saturated with consultants. although the products aren't really my taste either. that is why i am with senegence. i love it because i get all my products half off. not to mention they are products that last. you put them on for the day and never have to reapply the rest of the day. i love that, no more running eyeliner, no more reapplying foundation it is perfect for my busy life. plus our products protect with spf, and shea butter and more. Way back when I first got out of high school I sold Avon it ended up being a pain in my butt. The reason I say that is because if people don't end up paying you have merchandise that you have to send back or purchase yourself, but hey that was over 12 yrs ago. so I have no clue how it works now. But I will say that I do like avon product .. I am addicted to lip gloss or lipstick.

I don't sell Avon, but I do sell BeautiControl products. I find them to be very high quality, as they are more concentrated than the department store brands. You can buy from a rep or purchase membership to get a ton of product for free, order at a discount and either sell or not sell - the company is no-pressure but has lots of support and product info. Message me if you're interested.

I used to be an Avon distributor and Oriflame and Amway and another company , i can't remember what it was called, but i started hating them all. You have to pay a great deal of attention and time. I love beauty products but i hate selling them. If i can remember correctly you have some steps to follow and there is also a hierarchy as well. For the first step you have to make an order that passes an amount of money and get 10% discount and so on. The value of the products grows and so is your discount. For the first 5 or 6 steps you get some presents as well from free samples to actual products. You can subscribe people under your name as Avon sellers and have greater advantages , that way you can actually get a profit out of it. It's easy to do it you just need some serious buyers and you have to enjoy it. Thou i am not selling Avon products anymore I still buy them when they are on discount. Good luck to you!

Hi there, yes I sell Avon!! Yes, I love the product, i really started out around 6 months ago just to purchase for myself but I find it to be, not only a pain in the head for me but costly. It actually costs me because Im too busy to go gathering customers door to door, I dont wish to annoy people so i let people come to me. To be quite honest, I would like to end it but I have one customer who insists i keep going just so she can buy the stuff. Because i dont have the customers, I dont make money, it costs me around $10.50 each order (if I sell around $100), I have to pay for postage, the catalogues, the samples and, you dont really get the products any cheaper...unless, offcourse, you have hundreds of customers. For Avon to work for you, you need to be prepared to put in the effort

I sell Avon and really like it. I work the hours I want to and I get discounts on the Avon products that I want to use. The discount you get is based on how much your total order amounts to. I have my own Avon website where my customers from anywhere in the US can go and order. They can have their stuff shipped directly to them. You can access my Avon Representative website at http://youravon.com/susanking I like Avon's hand cream, make-up foundation, many of the fragrances and their jewelry.

Personally I have sold Avon quite a few times. The first time was like 25 yrs. ago when I was 18 and in College. It was always a Fun experience and I got a chance to know a lot of people, and make New friends in the process. I did do quite well the first 2 times I did it. Unfortunately the last time I had too much competition so it was hard to make anything from it. I would say that is a Great company to deal with, so if that is something you want to do, then go for it. If you never try how can you know how you'll do.

I love most Avon products I've tried, and like you, I've considered being a representative, mostly for my own savings. I absolutely adore Avon nailpolish, and I won't buy any other kind. I really like their glimmersticks eyeliner (the retractable ones), and thought I liked the glimmersticks brow liner, but find I can't use it all year round (it's too sticky for summer humidity, and won't go on smooth). I have used only Avon mascara for a few years now as well, and like the astonishing lengths one in black/brown. I really like their cream makeup removed, and the aloe and vitamin E soap, and some SSS items too (like the body wash.. yum!). I need to do some Avon shopping soon... I have some catalogues here from my rep, but it's past the due date (although I know she can backorder). I'm just afraid of getting carried away and spending more money than I can afford right now.

My mum used to sell Avon many myears ago (bout 16 years ago if not more!!) We used to go round with her helping her with ther orders!! I would like to sell avon but like you say dont want to pester people, plus I know someone who does it for the place I work at!! I like some of their perfumes, the smell lovely! My friend works in the Avon factory in Milton Keynes, she used to bring us all some of them goodie bags!! What do you think about Avon getting Reese Witherspoon on board??
28 Apr 08
The goodie bags are ok, but you never know what you get in them and if you get clothing in it, it might not be your size!! My friend who had a goodie bag gave me the bra that came in it as it was way too small for her but lucky for me it was my size!!!
