Are you still going to take a vacation with the price of gas so high?

We usually take a day trip and this year there is NO way that we can do that with the price of gas. Have you made changes to your summer plans because of the price of gas?

Most likely not, but then again, I dont generally take a vacation and go anywhere anyways. The places I fish arent very far from here, so about 10 dollars in gas would be more than enough for that. Thats the good thing about living so close to the atlantic.

we never have the money to go on a vacation regardless of gas prices, and we don't even own a car. We are going to find the hike in food prices very hard to live on as well.

Our summer vacation is hooked into the cost of transportation off the Island(we live on Vancouver Island,BC,Canada and the only 2 ways off are Ferries and air travel) and gas prices/lodging costs. This year we will be staying on Vancouver Island due to the high costs plus health issues we currently face.To get off the Island is an automatic $60 one way.Gas is at $1.28 a litre (about $5.12 an american gallon) and summer rates for hotels/motels start near $100 a night.I think I will borrow a van this year and camp out at a lake instead. That is assuming the logging companies have not shut down the roads to the lakes. I guess living in paradise has its drawbacks too.

I would love to take a vacation but money just isn't there for that even without the higher gas prices. They just make it even more unlikely. We have enough trouble making sure we have enough gas for the month let alone trying to go anywhere long distance. Anything we do this summer is going to be close to home unless we suddenly get an unexpected wind fall. Like that is going to happen. For the most part we'll be staying around the house and doing stuff here. Maybe we can go to the beach now and then which is only a few miles away but that is about it.

We usually take my kids to see my husband grandparnets every year but they live about 250 miles away and with the price of gas it would cost about $150 just for the gas to get up there and back and we can't afford that now that money can go towards the high food prices now. So no we will not be taking a vacation with the gas prices so high.
