Grrrr..why do thunderstorms affect the tv??

Watching television - Telly, TV, television, Relaxing
April 27, 2008 12:22pm CST
I came home from work, wanting to relax with the tv while mylotting! Next thing weather took a bad turn for the worse, thunder, lightening, hailstones, the lot!!! (eeek....take cover!!!) While this was happening, it interfered with the satelite so therefore I couldnt watch the tv!! Luckily though the thunderstorm didnt last long (bout 10 mins), everything went back to normal and was happy again!!! Dont you hate it when this happens???

I haven't been affected like this in years thank goodness and it isn't because we don't get rain, hailstones or thunder etc , I mean I am in Scotland and we get lots of that weather! lol Having said that I don't have Sky or a dish anymore just an aerial and freeview so maybe that is why I am ok? Glad to hear it didn't last long. xxx

We have a sky dish and the rain doesnt normally affect it, maybe for a few seconds but that thunderstorm, it was out for a few minutes! Good job I wasnt watching anything in particular such as a film, knowing my luck it would be a good part when it went off!! lol

That is why I don't have satelite any more. Eveytime the weather was bad or every time it rained or the wind blew hard we would lose the signal. The only problem I have with cable is the weather mad interrupting right at the good parts in the show to tell us someting we already know the weather is bad take cover.

I really really really hate Virginmedia but one of the reasons I stayed is because it is cable and is completely unaffected by any weather problems. My brother has Sky and the cable for the satellite dish got worn so water got into the video and broke it. Think I'll stick with cable for now.
