Considering Lasik Surgery Any Thoughts?

I wanted to get lasik surgery a few years ago but when I went into the ophthalmologists office for a consultation, he found damage within my eye that would prevent me from ever having the surgery. The damage, by the way, was caused from my contact lenses. I have worn contacts since I was eleven years old and I'm now 40. I was having trouble with my contacts prior to my examination and it turns out they were robbing my eyes of oxygen. Evidently my eye changed shape and the contacts no longer fit properly. This is a good reason to get your eyes checked every year, like I DIDN'T. I consider myself lucky to have no visual damage done. I am now insured and I just went to an eye appointment last week. My new contacts and glasses will be in shortly and I plan to continue seeing my eye doctor every year. Good luck with your surgery if you decide to go through with it. Two of my sister's had it done and they are both happy with it. My one sister is a little disappointed that she still needs reading glasses but she is still good for distances.

It's alittle costly but definitely worth it because glasses, contact lenses and eye care are really expensive as well if you add it up. No side effects for me, just some pain right after the surgery which goes away after a few hours. My eyes were also constantly dry a week after so I had to use lubricating drop more often, but now everything is great.

I know a few people that have had it done with great results...but it's doesn't last forever and I didn't know that! Anyway that is what someone told me.

Ive been wearing glasses since I was in grade school. Long time ago. I hate them actually tired of them. If I could afford the surgery I would try it.
