Shoveling poop before cooking.... what do you think of this?

A/ I have no idea what show you're talking about but B/ I was a culinary arts major so here's my input. It's a tv show. How do you know it was the SAME shirt? How do you know it wasn't washed prior to that segment of the show filmed later that he was wearing the "same" shirt? How do you know that segment filmed "later" wasn't actually filmed "first"? and finally... what is unsanitary is not the clothes you wear, the things you did prior to going into the kitchen and/or the things you do after leaving the kitchen. The part of you that needs to be sanitary and clean is your hands. and as long as he properly washed his hands between shoveling poop and working in the kitchen, he's fine. when you work in a kitchen washing your hands is a constant. if you sneeze, you must wash your hands. if you touched your foot, you must wash your hands. after touching raw meat, you must wash your hands. after washing dishes, you must wash your hands. after cutting vegetables, you should wash your hands. after using the bathroom, you must wash your hands. Whatever you were doing prior to touching food, you must wash your hands.... and you should wash your hands as you transition between foods as well as any instance where you were not touching food in between. So yeah. I think it was sanitary.

I totally agree with you. It's disgusting and unsanitary. I know they are making punishments undesirable for the show but still nasty is nasty. I think the punishments should be left to preparing foods, prep for next service or cleaning IN the kitchen. I didn't mind the time they had to unload a truck of supplies though. That was pretty reasonable.

I doubt he was wearing the same exact dirty chef jacket. There is a time constraint so they probably didn't show him washing the jacket. I don't think Gordon would allow that no way. He is a clean person, can't stand a little grease in the kitchen so I doubt horse poop would be allowed.
