How long have you had your cellular number?

Philippines

I have changed my cellular number maybe 3 times now and I had no choice the last time coz my cellular phone was stolen from me and together with it is the SIM card. My previous number I had for more than 5 years and now I had my number for just a year. I know some friends of mine having their cell number for years also. How about you, how long is your cellular number with you? « Gab »

i have two cellphone numbers right now under two different networks. i have changed my number only once. my old number, i had it for almost six years. i loved that number. it had been with me through my college and my first work experience. sadly, i decided to change it because of prank texters/callers. i couldn't live with it so i decided to get a new number. with regards to my current numbers, the first one, i had it when i still had my old number. its been with me for almost four years. i seldom use it. i bought it because i have friends with numbers from other network and we could easily communicate if we have our numbers under the same network. and the other one, i have it for almost two years now.

Hi gabrielle47! I have two cellular numbers. The first one is about 10-11 years and the other one is just a year old. I was suppose to change my first number but hubby wants me to maintain it saying that our old clients have that contact number and we have to still keep it just in case they need to do business with us again. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

i always changed my cellular number before about 15 times but when i started a business that includes selling of simcards and electronic loads i changed my mind instead stick to one number only so that my contacts will not lose in contact with me. I have now 3 numbers of with different network provider to cater all my customers what network provider they have. No problems for load because i always received load every month from our supplier and network provider because i use prepaid now, i stop using postpaid plan because of the privilege given by the network. I use postpaid when i was working, i stop when i engage a business.

What nice thing for you to buy your son a cellphone. Well to each his own and maybe he doesn't see the need much unlike others.

My new number is only a month old. Well, I just got to the UK march 21. But before that I had this international roaming number that I have been using since the beginning of 2005. I have lost 2 celphones when I was in Bangkok but I got the number back because I was using a postpaid program and my network gave me a new sim with the same number. I wonder how it would feel to have a cel number for many years.

interesting question, Gab... i know i've had this number long before i started working with my current employer.. soo.. that means i've had this number for over five years now... i've lost my previous numbers - just like you... when i got too careless and lost my mobile phone... and ACTUALLY, during the last five years... i did lose my phone once... but as the technology has progressed very much.. our telco service providers are equipped to still capture your number.. and you can opt to have a Replacement SIM card (with the same number) - some of the company charge for the replacement SIM card.. some dont... i think my husband has kept his same mobile number since the day he started using it... and most of the numbers in my 'phonebook' are still 'valid' - which means most of my friends have also kept their numbers all these years...

That's great tot hear and having a phone number that long and even your friends means a lot of things like reliable services, etc. I cant afford to be careless now so I would not like to loose my number again unless the SIM wont work anymore.

i have had my cell number for over a year now. i'm surprised that i still got it. but, i love the company that i'm with. which is Alltel here in the United States. i love my phone that they gave to me for free too. it's got a loud ringtone on it, and than i can make up my own ringtones from the tools application that is on it.

That is also one of my consideration for staying long with a number is liking the company that provides the service. Its great that the company gave your phone for free. « Gab »

I have my cel number for barely a month only. The reason is, my cellphone was stolen three months ago...so i need to change my number. When I changed my number, the simcard was broken so i need to change it again. I had a longest cel number when i was subscribed to postpaid...but for some reasons i had to cut it back...

I've had a few cell phone numbers. Let's see. When I first got my cell phone I had one number for about a year till I broke my phone, by dropping it, and it was a pay as you go, so I needed a new phone and I got on a plan then, with a new phone number. I then moved to another province so again I had to get a new number and I had that one for 1 1/2 years. I now have moved again to another province and so I have a new phone number again and I have had this one for the last three months. So I have so say I have had a few phone numbers.

I've had it for about 2 1/2 years, maybe 3. I transferred the number from my old service to the carrier I have now, and I intend to keep it as long as possible.

We have had our cell phone numbers for many year, ever since we got this particular service. I guess it's probably been 6 years or more. We changed providers because they had been bought out, so we decided to go with this company and got a new number. We will probably keep it since this is the only service that works as close to our home as it does. WE can't get service in our home, only on the road or out in the front yard. But no other service has power down in our area.

I have had my cell number for 7 years now. And now its like I can never change it coz all the people who I know since the last 7 years have this number and if ever anybody who am not in touch with me tries calling me I have to make sure that they could reach me.
