i usually keep it opened, i don't like to turn it off, because if somebody calls for an important reason he/she will miss me, what is there is a problem in my mothers house, or something bad like that, she will call me, i will pick it just after ringing once, i like talking at night, may be thats why i used to leave it opened, there are a lot of friends who call me at 1 am lol,

well, i dont really turn it off, i keep it on silent mode before i sleep so that i wont get disturbed. its very irritating when someone calls you in the middle of the night, and you get disturbed from your sleep, and sometimes you find it hard to go back to sleep again!

that's a good way so that we neither miss any important calls coz we can call back the nexr day nor be disturbed at mid-night.as you said, sometimes it's hard to fall asleep again.

I never close my mobile phones, I dont want to miss any emergency or urgent call. Once my dad rang me at 4 am in the morning mentioned that he just arrived and get lost trying to find my house. He didn't told me that he'll come because he said it wasn't on purpose but when the ferry arrived earlier at 3 am, He tried to find my house by himself and get lost. I am glad I didn't close my phone because if not I can't imagine my dad alone at night, lost, dont know where to go, tired and sleepy and desperately tried to contact me...

Hello sophialin. I usually turn off my cell phone when I go to sleep at night so that I won't be bothered by any incoming calls. But sometimes I forget to turn it off and it is left turned on. Good night.

I never close my mobile phone nor turn it off. For me, it is very important since I don't have a landline or home phone. I get texts, email messages and calls from my phone that's why it is very important for me!

Do you mean do I shut it off? No, I don't because I use it as my alarm clock. My last 2 alarm clocks have been "killed" by my cats, so its easier to have the phone in bed with me and I can check the time, charge it and have it wake me up in the morning.

I don't want to worry about it, and can't check the time with it off. Raise the cat, heck, I've currently got 26 cats! Do they sleep with me - not all of them. I only had 7 or so in bed with me last night! Radiation isn't going to kill me, I'm going to die of a stroke.

how amazing it is that you have 26 cats at home!i guess you have a big house, don't you? it seems only to take care of them cost you much time and energy.

1.i use my cell phone as alarm clock all the time and it works well when shut off. 2.you raise a cat at home? it's interesting. 3.if you put your mobile phone in the bed, remember to keep it away from your head in case of the radialization.

in my case, i need to keep my phone open all the time. being a freelancer, i get a lot of calls from clients. and some clients, specially those who are very comfy with me, sometimes call me up way past midnight. in fact, its a necessity for me to have 2 mobile phones open all the time. thats in case the other phone is busy or is charging. c",)

well.. good for you if it works that way. but not for me though.. i don't really use the house phone. i let other members of the household use it. none of my friends and clients know of it so that they'll call me directly on my mobile. c',)

I do not have a cell phone or mobile phone, but when I did have one, I plugged it in at night and unplugged it in the morning! I do see and hear people talking on their phones all day long! No matter where I go, I hear these people on their phones. I used mine for emails mostly and phone emergencies! It is neat the way things change in the way we least expect it!

I did like having one! I see the new ones have keyboard pads, which would make it even better! I will get one with gps, and camera as well! Maybe I will try to find one with a radio! And walkie-talkie capabilities too! Now I'm dreaming!

I'll just kept it on and will answer it when it ring in the night because I don't think my friend will call me for nothing in the night it might be something important. In case I did not hear it (sleep too soundly) I will return the call first thing in the morning.

I ought to switch my phone off at night, as I have a friend who tends to send a text message whenever he feels like it, whether that be 3am or otherwise. He's woken me quite a few times now. However, I use my phone as our alarm clock and I don't quite trust it to work when it's switched off. I know that's not logical, as I know it will work providing it has enough battery, but I'd rather be safe than sorry! So I guess I just have to put up with the odd text message at 3am!

First of all is closing mobile equal to Switching off the mobile. If that is the case, I don't switch off my mobile before going to sleep. I keep it as is just in case to ensure to receive emergency calls either from friends, relatives or if that matters from office. Keep posting and have fun! cheers

No, I don't. If i'm setting an alarm, I keep it under my pillo with vibration mode on. But if I'm not I just put it beside my pillow, still on but vibrate mode if off. Simply as that. Why should I turn it off anyway.. I've never heard of such way of keeping a celphone.

I use mine as an alarm clock and so it is never switched off. If it rings though I would not hear it, if anyone texts me I would not hear it. I only just about hear the alarm clock go off on it. Plus no one ever phones me on it anyway it is always text!!

hello sophialin! i dont turn my phone off but i never place it next to me in bed i always leave it at the living room coz i dont want my sleep to be distracted except of course if my hubby is out for a business trip then i place it at the bottom of the bed. i dont mind missing any calls coz i have a voice mail and i can always call them back if it is important. i guess to those who dont have a voice mail they would leave it on and next to them coz they dont want to miss any calls. anyway, we all have our own preferences and that is mine. takecare!
