I just read an article that said American only eat about half of the amount of fiber they should and this is the cause of so many of our diseases like diabetes, cancer and other diseases related to our digestive system. One report said that at one time doctors didn't think fiber had anything to do with our health because fiber has no nutrition. Now they have learned it has everything to do with maintaining a healthy body. Lack of fiber can cause hemorrhoids, irritable bowl syndrome, constipation, diverticula disease and many others. Most fiber gets removed from foods when being processed. A man needs 30 grams of fiber a day and womwen under 50 need 25 grams while women over 50 need 21 grams. Do you think you eat enough fiber? Now that you know how important fiber is to stay healthy will you eat more?

I get plenty of fibre and make sure hubby has his too. I make a high fibre shake for breakfast with hemp hearts and it keeps me healthy and as regular as can be.
