friends jealousy

do you experience being jealous because your friend has a new friend or when she got close to someone? i asked this question because i remember my best friend wrote me a letter, that is when i start socializing with other people, and it said there that i changed a lot, i found new friends and she said to me that she's sad because of it. i almost cry but instead, i talk to her, explaining that i want to have new friends and she'll be my only bestfriend. you guys, do you experience the same thing?

i felt the same way when my bestfriend found new friends in her college. we went to different colleges and we would only see each other during summer and Christmas vacation. and before i knew it, she were excitedly talking about people that i don't know. there were a lot of times that i got jealous but i prevented it from growing because its very silly and stupid to feel that way. and besides, i found new friends in my college then. but we still treated each other as the best of friends. i think its normal to be jealous because it shows that we love our bestfriends. it would only becomes bad if we entertain the jealousy and let it grow inside our heart. and i think it is also up to us to make our friends feel that we won't replace them.

i never get jealous when my best friends meet new friends, it usually ends up, that i will be introduce to them and we would hang out together.. yeah,it happens that my best friend talks a lot about people she met, its like i already know them even if i haven't meet them yet... i respect that coz i also meet a new people. but the important thing is, the friendship will always be there no matter how many people we both meet..

No, I don't get jealous or mad when my best friend or any of my friends make new friends. I don't believe it should be a problem. My best friend now lives in a different state than I do. What kind of friend would I be if I got upset because she made new friends?

i guess i wont be jealous... it is her choice to find new friends and make friends too.. it does not mean that we are friends her attention should only be with me right?
she too has got to have her own life... it would be best too of course, if she will introduce me to the new friends she found. :)

Hi ckimkimkim, only at the age of early teens I did have such peculiar behavior as I was really afraid that my best friend might abandon me if she had got a new friend to replace me as her best friend. In my recollection I can say that this is quite natural for any teens to have such jealousy and uncertainty.
