Do you ever stop and offer assistance if you see someone broke down on the roadside?

Usually not. Deoends. We seen a lady walking in huge heels Asked her if she needed a ride. took her to get gas and when we took her back to her truck. She told us she had already walked a mile when we had picked her up. I felt so bad because she said so many peopl had passed her and not even offered to get the gas and bring it back so they didnt have to pick her up or anything.

It is definitely in my nature to stop, but I am less likely to now because it is dangerous. If there were lots of people around and the person in trouble was obviously distressed, I would stop and help if I could. However, I had a male friend who stopped to help a man lying on the road, only to get mugged and have his car stolen. If it is a more remote area, I will sometimes stay in the car and ask if the person is okay, but I wouldn't get out. I'm useless with cars anyway, so I wouldn't be much help, but if they don't have a phone I can at least call someone for them. On the other hand, I have offered assistance to young children many times. A couple of weeks ago, I actually fished a young boy about two years old out of a fountain. He had fallen in, and his mother and grandmother were sitting at a nearby cafe, completely oblivious. I had to ask around to see whom he belonged to, and when I asked them they just said yes and gave me a filthy look. Unbelievable - he could have drowned.

There was a time when I did but no more. It is too dangerous and you can give assistance by calling the police and letting them know that there is someone who is broken down who needs help. I am a women and I would be no help to someone broke down. So I do the next best thing and call it in.

Not these days. Its just not safe. Luckily, most everyone has a cellphone and can call someone for help. If not, a cop will eventually come by.

I would never stop and help anyone in this day and age unless I knew them, or they were super old with kids. I've heard to many stories of a lone-woman standing by her car looking like she needed help only to have a man laying in the ditch waiting to pounce when the good Samaritan stopped to help. I would use my cell to call for help though, after I drove up the road a peice.

it is sad to know that you are literly taking your life into your hands if you offer help to a fellow human being that is in distress, isn't it?
