hi all.. I face one problem with my home PC. It get power off automatically after sometime(not fixed). When i start it again, it shows me that CPU was shutdown due over heating. One more problem is already there. I am not able to start(power on) PC as soon as i switch on the electricity. Once i switched on electricity, i have to wait for almost 5-10 minutes to start it. After 5-10 minutes i can start it and after some random time it gets off automatically. Can u people give me why this is happen? What are the possible reasons behind this? What should i do to solve this problem?

Visually check your processor's fan, see to it that it is rotating, if not clean it out by removing clogs and dust, if it still not rotating then replace it, its a good thing your bios is set to shutdown at certain temperature, else you'll have to replace your processor. So its either your fan or your processor.

I agree with my friend here. CPU fan is very important. Sometime if it's a faulty power supply, these kinda intermittent problems can occur as well. It's good to have proper ventilation for your PC.

The problem is obviously related to the cooling efficiency of your system, which could be the processor fan or heatsink or even the general ventilation os the the whole computer. Once the processor temperature reaches a level whereby the system shuts down, it will take some time to cool before it will permit a restart.

Overheating is one problem which faces the CPU which is mainly due to the ever-increasing demand for speed and power. The faster a cpu goes (Ghz) the more heat is dissipated as a result. Most cpus have some cooling system where a fan is placed on top of it to directly move air and remove hot air. What could happen is for this fan to get stuck in dirt and not be able to do its job efficiently. When this happens, it is sure that the cpu will overheat. It has happened to me and I know that periodic cleaning is necessary. What also helps is if your computer casing is not cramped and is airy. Extra cooling fans placed on the casing blow cool air in and to blow hot air out will also help.

there can be a lot of factors for that. it may be that you computer heating systrem is not ventitaled and cooled properly. also you have to check whether you are overcloking the pc ir not. cause if you have overclocked it then also it can get heated up very quickly. then also make iot a point that the place where you have kept the CPU is not closed. if you do these then it should work, or else you can buy a good fan for cooling. dont buy the local ones as they are hopeless. get a good one with high rpm and less noise.

i think the place you keep your computer is poorly ventilated, or the fans inside the system are no longer working, also you should place an external fan behind the computer to be cooling it. This thing happened to my computer speaker and it got so heated that the transformer of the amp, blow.

well usually a pc resets by itself when it is overheated. thats is its way of protecting itself and warning the user. in your case, you said that it was shut down? maybe what it did was to actually restart? this is most common to amd athlon processors. what i can suggest to you is minimize your pc use to only up to 4 hours. i dont know what is the climate there in your country right now, but in tropical countries like mine, especially in summer, its pretty hot and when you use the pc during the daytime, it will overheat much faster, especially if used it for long hours. and check your fan if its properly working. havent you noticed in the computer rooms of schools or cafe's the aircon is on 24-7? or until they close? coz the pc needs to be in a cold room (at least) coz they are on for long perods of time so the cold prevents them from overheating. try using your pc during the evening when its not hot anyomre and see if it still restarts by itself.

I wonder whether the CPU fan or computer fan works properly. Or whether it is full of dirts. Sometimes these problems will cause the CPU too hot. I love China

I used to have these problems with my own pc. The second problem is due to a dying electrical source. The first problem is due to a no longer working cooler fan or an inadequate cooler fan.

HI, It may be basically because the heat sync paste below the processor fan is fully vanished. You need to reapply the paste. And make sure that there is no dust sitting on the processor fan. Use a vaccume cleaner or a blower to blow the dust completely. Regards.

Well if you have dust in your computer, you want to clean that out as it will keep heat in. Check to see if your fan is working, as this is your main source of coolness. If it is not or if the CPU is just heating abnormally, you may want to consider buying a new fan (or feeding your computer ice cubes) for the computer. Also try keeping your computer in a more cool environment. Also, maybe one of your cables/electrical connections create a lot of resistance which then create heat, check that out.
