I turned on Dr. Laura today just in time to hear her read a email she received form an American Soldier. The jest of the story is that he was proud of his job as a Air Forse Pilot and enjoyed being called a Hero! But at home he was miserable to live with. He said he ruined his first marriage and was about to ruin the second when his wife said I will not tolerate you treating me or our child any less then a human being again. If you do I will be leaving you. He said he gave this some thought and wondered how he could not think the people most important to him deserved a Hero in their life. Some who loved and prtected them. He said he began to change his ways and him and his wife fell in love again and the relationship with his children also changed. He said yesterday his wife called from work and said she couldn't wait for them to have their alone time later that evening. Later that evening as they got into their alone time he could see that his wife's Multiply Sclerois that she had been diagnosed with months earlier was acting up. He wrapped her in his arms and said Honey holding you in my arms is the greatest gift to me and it is all I need. With in moments his wife was sleeping with the most peaceful look on her face that he had ever seen. It was at that moment I new that I knew I was a true Hero to my wife and kids..... Now I may not of told the story as well as it was read out on the radio but I tell you I was going through the drive thru to get my coffee with fresh tears running down my face. The power to change our lives as the power to change so many things about our lives and our loved ones and that changes everything. Even sending the letter into a radio station in hopes to share his story with other men can bring on so much change to benefit people they dont' even know. Do you know someone who has changed so much that their lives did a complete turn around? Lets here the stories? ( no names of course)

Good evening Coffeeanyone, what a heart touching story. I cannot top that with a story of my own. However I do want you to know that your story here makes me think how true it is, that no matter the opinions of our friends, colleagues, peers and people we share our life outside of our homes with, no matter how they see us, unless we are hero's and people of substance to the very ones closest to us we are nothing at all. Thanks for that reminder.

Thank you for reading! I love what you said. I have to say I finally learn't this lesson in my life too many years ago when I was younger but it was through out side influences in my life and not my own family. I have tried to pass this on to my children that loved ones are the most important people in your life . I guess some of us learn late like this man but I believe when you turn it around as he did a great healing of all lost time and love is made up in a miraculous way. I guess love really does cover a mulitude of sins.
