Beware of snatchers!

Let this be a warning to all of you. With the rising prices of food and energy we can only expect the number of thieves to increase. This morning I was in the bank. I was filling out a withdrawal slip. I wasn't sure of the date today so I had to take out the pocket calender that was in my wallet. After that I placed my wallet on the table just a few inches away from me. I did this mindlessly as there was no one else there on the table. But then a man came, stood beside me and started filling out a slip with his hands right next to my wallet. After just a few seconds he suddenly he grabbed all of his stuff including my wallet! To be sure I checked my back pocket and sure enough my wallet wasn't there. So I confronted him "Hey that's mine!" and immediately grabbed my wallet from his hand. Acting surprised he asks me "Oh, is that yours?". I was fuming mad I didn't want to talk to him and just went on with my business. Now he's on my other side, still filling a slip (I wonder why he had to transfer to that side). When he was finished writing he apologized to me "Hey man, sorry about that". I completely ignored him and didn't accept his apology because I wasn't convinced that it was an honest mistake on his part. He's lucky I didn't punch his nose. So what do you think? Was it an honest mistake on his part or is this guy really a snatcher/kleptomaniac? Has this ever happened to you?

There are a lot of crazies out lately. Everyone is desperate. People can't even afford to fill up their gas tanks to drive to work these days. Sad and hard times are coming for everyone I think. The man probably did try to swipe your wallet. Why else would he had put his stuff right down next to it and not on the other side of you? Good thing you were able to get it back. Now you'll definitely be keeping a close watch on your stuff and you will never put your wallet down on a counter again. I have learned to hold my hand on my pocketbook as I carry it over my shoulder to keep a firm grip on it as I walk down the street. I also keep my little girl right on my hip and close to my body at all times.

That little girl is the most precious of all your valuables indeed. You bet I'll never leave my wallet lying around like that again. Actually I am sensitive to these things because I've already had money stolen from my side pocket before. We need to pull together to put an end to these "desperate" times.

I don't know if he is or not Dragon, but I can tell you that gas thefts right out of your car is on the rise in our small town. Especially in the apartment complexes. I can only see this type of behavior and desperation getting worse.

Oh my God are you kidding me? This is the first time I've heard of such gas theft! I mean, it used to be CD players being stolen from cars, or the car itself being stolen! I guess gasoline has gone up so high it has become more precious than the car itself! I hope you don't get victimized Angel.
